Nokia N9 poses for new shots, looks like a mini MacBook

19 August, 2010
It seems the Nokia N9 teaser video that leaked back in June might turn out to be the real deal. Today's detailed pictures show the same QWERTY slider we saw before, supposedly running MeeGo OS...

Alamgir, 20 Aug 2010N8 has not yet seen the daylight yet and there is a N9, why... moreNokia produce many models every year for every price range. Its not apple to produce one phone every year. Thats why nokia is first mobile manufacture all those years in the world market.
N8 has nothing to do with N9. N9 is the first MeeGo model and one of the many more will nokia announce till the end of the year. More models, more options, more price tags, more happy customers.

And dont compare this mobile linux powered OS computer with the android/iphone ones.

nice, but to be competitive, the Super AMOLED display would have to have a good pixel density, e.g. retina display 330ppi, wave 282ppi, jet 300ppi, N8 209ppi, N9 184ppi??-otherwise, I don't think it would be considered a high-end phone and it would not deserve a premium price

N8 has not yet seen the daylight yet and there is a N9, why is nokia so desparate to launch handsets ? will it not spend some time with the N8 ?

It's looking like Nokia N8 (Which we didn't tried yet)with a side slide keypad in the style of Nokia N97. Its success depends of the success of nokia N8...these 2 phones gonna meet hard competition, specially against the Galaxy's of Samsung and Iphone.
As a long and old user of Nokia, this time I switch to Android's device...and when we tried these smartphones we never go back...That's the risk of Nokia in the market actually.

The N9 will be Nokias best phone to date. The QWERTY keyboard looks very mmmmm. The space between the 4 rows of keys shows simplicity, clean, uncluttered looking keyboard. Very neat & tidy in appearance. Nokia clearly using the same Unibody like appearance that they started with the N8 means that this phone is also made out of Anodized Aluminium. Mmmmm nice.

Indeed what this loveley news means for us Nokia fans shows Nokia leading innovation above the rest yet again. The shape & form that exudes style & elegance in a chic slim body with a keyboard. Impressive more so than any other device in the market for slimness. This also means Nokia could use the same process for the N9 (a coloured dye is mixed in during the oxidisation process) for colouring. So I hope we do see more colour variations for this phone also.

Meego will be a class leading Linux Full Operating system. Probably the best OS to put ito a Mobile Computer. The current information already have then leaves us marvelling, dreaming over speculation for the rest of the specifications. Will the screen be 800x480 WVG, or nHD 640x360. Will the screent be Super Active-Matric Organic Light Emitting Diode with no backlight. Will there be more than 16GB or built in nand flash memory. The CPU, the GPU etc... clearly the 8Mp camera may be for sure but that's still speculaive to a degree. Wonder what they'll be?

Are you for real GSMArena? Saying at the start of the news that it supposedly running MeeGo, then saying it boosts a large nHD screen?! MeeGo on a nHD screen?!! Maemo5 had a WVGA one .. how on earth could you even assume it has a nHD one?!!

Anonymous, 19 Aug 2010That is E7 not N9.Ah, that makes sense. E-series continues with the S^3 line and the N9 starts the MeeGo quest.

Does anybody know when Intel's newest line of ultra-low power mobile processors will be available?
Because I read somewhere that MeeGo will run on Atom-based CPU's...
Which makes sense - if Intel is going to invest so much into the development of MeeGo, then I'm sure they will expect it to be used on their own line of processors?
Am I too hopeful to think that the N9 will be build with a Intel CPU?

nomorese, 19 Aug 2010Now there is a pocketable computer. I only wish the N8s cam... moreFitting the n8 camera into this unit would make it atleast 3mm thicker. I think this is a better deal. I for one, would pick dual led over zenon anyday. Especially if its as bright as the n86's.

Sure ain't a phone. Its a pcm. A portable communication module!
