Nokia N9 poses for new shots, looks like a mini MacBook

19 August, 2010
It seems the Nokia N9 teaser video that leaked back in June might turn out to be the real deal. Today's detailed pictures show the same QWERTY slider we saw before, supposedly running MeeGo OS...

          [deleted post]Oh c'mon.. 1st.. No one needs so many apps opened at the same time + I don't think that a Normal User uses more than (let's say) 7 - 15 apps opened at the same time. 2nd.. Powerfull RAM & CPU it's needed, if you want to run apps & play movies smoothly & kindly, and even for a great internet browsing experience, I mean for a fast web-page load & watch Videos on the internet such as in YouTube, you'll need even if you don't want to .. a Powerfull RAM & CPU ! PS: Ok, maybe you'll not want to believe me, but go & try to see how fast is the HTC HD2 at internet browsing, and how fast is let's say a Nokia 5800 or an Nokia N8, or an Nokia N900.. the HD2 is alot faster, even at Playing Videos on YouTube and all that kind of stuff.. + I have a friend that has Nokia 5800, and the Internet Browsing on it I saw it's so dissapointing.. there are Web-Sites which are made in Advanced PHP Coding or other advanced stuff, the 5800 takes alot of time to load it normally & it only stays on it a few minutes, then the Web-Browser crashes... but the HD2 is like flying on that Web-Page ! PS: just go & try it too see for yourself, then say who's the "Dumb Head" !

            Doing a litle calculation of the dimesion of the pictures (based on sim size), leads to an estimated size of 65x120mm.
            And further calculus give a screen of 87x54mm or 4.0 inches
            We can only hope they finally go from nHD to WVGA, if the screen is as huge as that.
            :-)

              YES, it looks like a mac...but if others can copy from nokia than nokia can copy from others too.I´m proud of nokia because finally they learnd that they´ll have to play dirty.It´s all about money!! And the phone is great.I will wait and I will buy one.The only thing I miss is the D-Pad.Many people will say that is usless because of the touch screen, but I like it...it´s very comfortable;

                  [deleted post]i used htc hd2 but windows mobile is bad.it crashes many times.i loved the big screen n thin look but windows os is bad.so i shifted to htc desire which is ofcourse good device.windows already left that os behind a long time back.so dont compare meego device with hd2 which is ofcourse going to be outdated soon once windows 7 comes up in htc

                    the E-series seems to be more aimed towards business users. Most of them have blackberry phones hence the E series looking like Blackberrys. It would be stupid to change the lay out as many people want the same comfortable feeling, if you are a busy business man/woman u do not have tym to adopt a new style of writing messages. You are at the airport, about to send a message t your Boss, you have duty free bags in one hand, other hand you use to message. How would you do this comfortably on a landscape qwerty keyboard? E series MUST stay the same style as blackberry

                      Thank you Nokia but I have waited since April for the N8, now the N9 rumour was posted about a month back, I am not waiting til end of 2011 Q1 begining Q2 for the N9. One of the main reasons I will choose N8 over a htc desire etc.. hot swapable microSD and symbian^3 still has the alpha numberic keypad (on screen) which is a GEM!! in the N97, I could reach good texting speeds. other qwerty on screen keyboards EG HTC desire in portrait mode holding phone with one hand can be irritating, although it has correctional software but does not always work. Anroid please bring in alpha numeric keypad in portrait mode and I will convert from Symbian to Anroid!!

                              [deleted post]well, the problem is that HTC usually is ugly as hell, I got one and I loved the software but hated the look, I decided to sent it back. If it's a cheap phone, I don't care if it is ugly but if it a expensive one that is a big no. Anyway meego seems pretty good, can't wait to see a bit more, and this device seems very very interesting, maybe I'll go back to nokia after all...

                                  I'm now really confused which phone to get.. I own a E72 and 5800, N8 came to my mind before I saw N9 in pictures. How much would you think N9 costs?

                                  The bigger screen on the N9 is tempting... :S but N8 is the camera part..

                                    Actually N8's design was unlike any Nokia from past & some said, "its inspired by iPhone" especially locking the battery within aluminium body is a gamble considering history of Nokia smartphone's. They are prone to getting hanged too often to say the least.

                                    I hate to say this, but this N9 is awefully inspired by MacBook. Its not just me but hundred of readers & tech blogs like @Engadget & even @GSMarena who feels in similar fashion.
