Most phones have bluetooth where as people don't tend to carry cables on them. I still know people with phones that still have pop ports.
Now imagine if they had the album on their phone. Will they be willing to email an album.

By the way, bluetooth 3.0 at 24mbps is 12 times as fast as the maximum speed you can get on any current nokia and most (if not all ) mobiles out there.

You say the cable is at your home while visiting your friends this is however conditional that your friend even has a bluetooth dongle for their pc/laptops to even connect to your phone. The odds are that someone having a USB cable that fits your phone is alot higher than someone having a bluetooth dongle. Also even if you feel awkward to ask for a USB cable, you'd still have to ask your friend to pair your phone with their laptop/pc assuming they have a bluetooth dongle. If your friends have a bt dongle then thats good for you.

My cable is at home whilst i'm visiting a friend. I'm a typical guy that carries a wallet, phone and keys in my pocket most of the time so i find it convenient. Notice i said convenient and not superfast. You will also not find a usb cable in my denim jeans even though the e72 has the shortest cable ever.
micro usb is now getting popular but i'd rather connect discreetly than start asking to borrow usb. so yeah maybe bluetooth may not come in handy for you but i like it. I can even stream audio from my phone through to the laptop and subwoofers whilst in bed. I find bluetooth really handy.

Being able to dr... moreso you're telling me just because you have to worry about 1 single cable you would rather sit and wait to transfer 80MB worth of data over bluetooth 2.0 protocol which is theoretically only 3Mbits? Mbits = 375KB/s however thats not including overhead so technically its only about 300-320KB/s. At 80MB worth of data since you say a full album and im going by average mp3 file of 5MB each file and a full album is about 16 tracks it would take you over 4 minutes to transfer to your phone. When over USB 2.0 which is theoretically 480Mbps it can be done in mere seconds? :) yeah... i think i'll just keep my tiny 1 ft long USB cable that i usually throw in my laptop bag anyways... that way if I ever decide to transfer videos to my Galaxy S it'll take minutes.. not Hours...

Being able to drag a whole album to my phone's E drive over bluetooth and not having to worry about cables. Heck i can browse my E and C drives over bluetooth. Now that's convenience.

The figures are from researcher Gartner and when Nokia was approached with said sales figures they did not deny it merely declined to comment on it. If the N900 had such stellar sales figures as all you wished it to be why would Nokia decline to disclose it? Easy because it was a flop, when was the last time you've seen any company brag about how much of a flop their products was? Another example was Sprint's Evo 4G debacle. Sprint claimed Evo4G sales met their expectations, yet when leaked figures by an employer sprint got pretty red faced did they not?

Why would file transfer by bluetooth determine whether its a smart phone or not? you're delusional as bt protocol is highly inefficiently. Every smart phone these days has either a micro USB or mini USB. Wouldn't file transfer between a computer and phone be smart to go by USB? Phone to Phone file transfer you say? Well if you're a business oriented person that needs to transfer files quickly wouldn't transferring the files over 3.5G/4G be much faster as well? WHY YES IT WOULD. Drag and drop? I don't know what you're talking about buddy... I've had the G1 since launch when it was running 1.5 and it's always had drag and drop and the ability be mounted as a storage device. The reason why iOS doesn't support drag and drop? ONE WORD: iTunes. Apple wants you to use their proprietary market and system why would they allow drag and drop? And really are you complaining because you can't use drag and drop on an iphone? Most likely if you bought an iphone you probably had an ipod to begin with and that means you've already had itunes installed.

I totally disagree with GSMArena or whoever the source is. Nokia didn't copy the MacBook design. They are the first company to invent the idea of communicators back in 1996 where they were showing it in all movies as a high tech end device and MacBook came only in 2006.

Why this Macbook talk?
at a first glance at a thumbnail picture, sure.
But if you enlarge that picture, you dont get the same feel.
And the macbook is unibody, this is not.
The keyboard style was seen long before apple started using it.
The colors are pretty close, but weve seen them on many other devices, some plastic.
And to be honset, even if this is aluminium, it looks more like a plastic databank from 90s early 00, than a macbook.
But compared to other keyboard equipped mobiles, this one looks pretty good.
Sure the design can be a bit booring, but so it is when you try to keep it clean.
I dont think that in real life anyone would think of macbook when they see this device on its own.
and lying beside a macbook, no one would really call them similar.

Looking really nice so far.
Definitely THE phone that might bring me back from the Android side(Galaxy S) to Nokia. Will just wait till couple of months after release of this.
Btw i hear this "Nokia is only about cheap phones" lets remind ourself that Nokia is number one in smartphones and in Q1 sold more +400 euros phones than any other brand. That's the beauty of Nokia's brand. They can control high ends and low ends in a same time. You can throw vertu there too that got dominant position in the luxury market.
I think we all can agree that Nokia has been doing bad these past 2 years, but i don't see where all this hate is coming?

for starters there is no sales satistics on it!
and secondly we dont know what numbers Nokia were counting on, they did not call it top of the line, they themselves talked of it as a alterative product... its people like you that have been pushing that mantra calling it top of the line. Sure it had the best CPU, and memorycount in a Nokia. But the size, styling and focus should make ir pretty clear it was not intended for everyone. Sure the Maemo OS was suppose to turn up in other more mainstream devices, but the N900 wasnt mainstream.
Maemo has now turned in to be a part of the MeeGo os, Intel and Nokia merged their OSes to make one even better OS and not compete within the same field. A very good, and rare decision in todays market. And no, MeeGo is nothing like Android. MeeGo is open, scalable and could be fitted wth a custom UI running deep in to the OS. MeeGo is a base, the OS can look many different ways, and work in many different ways.

It's MeeGo, not Symbian. Symbian^3 phones need nHD for the applications(Symbian itself can scale up pretty easily).
Meego don't have this problem just like Maemo didn't have.
I mean even the Meego bug site is reporting 800 x 480 resolution everywhere.
