Motorola should JUST REALISE THAT THEY NEED TO STOP FRAGMENTING THEIR CELL PHONES OSes..
Instead of making a firmware for each region, create a unified code for every market, and create a separated program or whatever framework for localization... in a way we could all update using the US-VERSION of the firmware and our local providers would simply release their localized apps via OTA.
I seriously hope motorola brings Android 2.2 and 3.0 to Brazil, or at least, if they don't do that, open the bootloader so the community can update their firmwares by themselves.

I will like to add, that this link was updated, and now they are saying that Milestone for LatinAmerica is NOT GOING TO HAVE ANDROID 2.2.
I would like to know, if anybody knows, if this is some Market strategy from Motorola, or a problem with service Providers. Here at Argentina, this phone was one of the most requested at the market, it is a shame that know I will have to charge Motorola with legal actions due to their announcement of Flash and Full Html.
Thanks.

Funky D, 23 Aug 2010Heykiii,
I understand youre frustration because me too h... moreHey Funky D,
I understand Canada is a small player. But look the cell phone penetration is 100% people have more cell phone then landline ... and I mean if you want to be competitive you need to improve the producs but with the big 2 (Bell-Telus (there praticly married) and Rogers).
We got nothing ... my carrior is Fido and I'm still stuck with HSDPA 850 when Rogers has the HSDPA 2100 ... So my download are slow ... Android 1.6 is ok but some of my friends has the 2.2 ... And no joke I am real faithfull to the Sony brand ... The main reason I bought the X10 is I heard that this summer there were to realese a Remote Play App for the PS3 .. but i know i will have to wait for 2.1 because de DNLA is not activated ... Basacly it sucks being in Canada ... and because I'm in quebec I have to wait that they have the ok from loi 101! ... Anywayz thank god my X10 is unliocked!

baz, 23 Aug 2010i have a motorola dext orange uk and will now be last motor... moreBaz,
Think carefully before choosing HTC. They can be just as bad (think Hero).
I had the HTC Touch HD which was, at the time, their flagship smartphone. When they started releasing WM6.5 (6 months after I got the Touch HD) they issued a statement that their flagship the Touch HD would no longer be getting any updates because, and I quote, "the type of users who bought the Touch HD are the type of users who will go out & buy another, newer smartphone" This was true in my case. But only because they refused to update my existing one (which looking at custom ROMs - is more than capable of running WM6.5)...

Thanks, at least moto hasn't rejected upgrade for milestone asian.
but, remember since it was advertised as flash ready, i won't take no for the answer. Motorola will lose its loyal customer if they neglect us in asia.

For those in countries where Moto stated the upgrade being "under evaluation", can you all look at the bright side? If Moto decided NOT to upgrade phones in these regions, why even bother to use the words "under evaluations"? Why not simply state "not available"?
