Anonymous, 24 Aug 2010SEriously, why are nokia still releasing symbian^1 phones? ... moreDon't buy it then. It's meant for the "can't afford" crowd, those who work like slaves so someone's daddy can buy his son/daughter a flashy car.

i agree that s60v5 might looks obsolete due to the lack of eye candy but in fact it is a very feature wise operating system and can be consider quite powerful especially in term of connectivity. (being able to bluetooth transfer file out of the box, flash lite supported since day one, able to install 3rd party application through computer without the need of rooting or whatever) Especially with the introduction of kinetic scrolling at later devices, touch friendliness is pretty much reasonable and not as bad as described by other. Much like gsmarena's review said, it depends on your backgroudn in term of user-friendliness.
As for the design, it's no doubt a down-sized Nokia X6, personally thinks that it's quite a looker, but that's personal taste.
No doubt this will be the minimum price for highest resolution, nHD isn't bad at all, only right below today's top dog WVGA.

samsung already have cheap touchscreen phone so it is natural that nokia will come out with one to compete with samsung's.

nn, 24 Aug 2010the front looks quite a bit like the xperia x10 mini/pro do... moreI think most people would agree with you(excluding nokia fanboys) that the design is very similar to Sony Ericsson X10mini, X8 etc. Nokia used to have unique designs, now just copy cats :P

If you get Nokia 5230 for 115 euros (taxes included; http://www.gigantti.fi/product/puhelimet-ja-gps/matkapuhelimet/NOK5230BLACK/nokia-5230-black) why would anyone bought that instead... well perhaps Nokia stops 5230 production...

The only thing that is holding Nokia alive is their free GPS service. Most people I know use their 5230 as a GPS unit in their car. I never made a phone call on mine. Both of their platforms (S40 andS60) are obsolete. Even the cheapest feature phones form other manufacturers have one of the premium features: GPS, WiFi, 3G or a decent camera.

Anonymous, 24 Aug 2010Seriously these people catch a grip so what it aint got 3g ... morethis is not for developing countries. this is primarily for developed countries. because developing countries have usually more developed mobile markets. especially russia. those phones, like also htc smart, samsung jet, corby, star etc or lg cookie etc, they aims for people who don't want to have powerful expensive device, but prefer to get just a nice device for free with contract or for very low cost. all they need is just a phone, but they are ready to spend twice more to get it more nicely. they don't get them for functions.
any way nokia has bumped prices lately, so it wouldn't cost below of 7190 rubles (180 euro)

Seriously these people catch a grip so what it aint got 3g or wifi, its targeting developing countries where people cant afford the icrap and htc's, so this will be good to bring them into the touchscreen segment! Good work Nokia give the people what they really want!
