In order to connect the phone to your pc you'll have to install an application call "zune".
Once installed you'll be able sync the device to your pc. You can transfer music, pictures and videos to and from the device.

Seems like this phone would be great to take on holiday to listen to your music tracks/radio on the beach or beside the pool, without using external speakers. If there is a decent size memory card with it, this would banish MP3 players to the bin forever. If this phone had all the features of the Desire with a few extra upgrades (FM transmitter please), this will definitely be my next phone.

Anonymous, 26 Aug 2010Let me put it this way. If you build something mechanical, ... moreDude, wake up. Why is this so hard for you to grasp?
Firstly, i repeat there are no such terms peculiar to mechanics or engineering. Its plain english.
How could a slider possible move in one direction only? It has to be able to return to its initial position.
The question is whether or not there is a keyboard. The nokia c6 is a sideslider. It slides out at only one side! So do the 6760 and others. Neither the term 'slide out' nor 'side slide' tell you if it slides out at both sides. Go work on your english.

Either way, the caption is "A slide-out speaker". MT8u is taking what GSMA is saying (sideslider) and then putting his own interpretation into it.
But reality is relative, right?

r 3 b 3 l, 26 Aug 2010Dude, i'm positive there is something seriously wrong with ... moreLet me put it this way. If you build something mechanical, a tray or a shelf drawer for instance and call it a sideslider, than the hinge should move both directions. And if it only moves in one direction than it's a slideout tray or a slideout drawer. Hope it's clear now? If you build something that move both directions and call it slideout, then you better get back to Uni and do your mechanical engineering degree again.

r 3 b 3 l, 26 Aug 2010Dude, i'm positive there is something seriously wrong with ... moreNope, nothing wrong with my English at all. Maybe you just lack the understanding to grasp what i wrote. Webster's dictionary in this case has nothing to with mechanical, electric and engineering terms. Sideslider is something that slides both ways, even when working with cars, engineering or metal works, and a slidout is only on way. Get it?

Grammatically speaking, the word side-slide is a verb. Sideslider, means something that side-slides. The nokia c6, 5730 and 6760 are sidesliders.
There are no such terminologies as you tried to cook up

The proper mechanical terms in mobiles phones, PC and electronics is like this.
Slideout means single slide
Sideslider means double slider or they would call just single Sideslide.
Even physical terms for eveything you do like skiing, mopping up or whatever the motion is called Sidesliding, that's where it comes from, sliding out is just in single direction.
I have no idea if this one has a qwerty, but if they wrote that it's a sideslider that there is something on the other end, and i would be very surprised if it's not a qwerty or will be a waste of space.

who the heck told you that side-slider must be a slider that can slide in both way? Maybe you are the one that have difficulties in English. Stop being a smart ass. Although I can't say that this device can only slide in one way but the term side-slider applied on many single direction side slider as well.

Anonymous, 26 Aug 2010Did you ever think that maybe the speaker is not mainly mea... morejust my 2 cents to some of your posts:
1. If that speaker is for speaker phone, etc then that is absolute overkill. I think the speaker design was intended for enhancing audio when the phone is being used on a flat surface with the kickstand out, not any of the things you are suggesting.
2. The Nokia N95 did not slide left to right, unless you are suggesting when you turn the phone sideways that the dual slider action is left to right. The slide for the music buttons emerged from the top and the numeric pad from the bottom.
3. There is nothing to suggest the phone actually does slide to reveal a qwerty. You are making an assumption and side slider does not mean that it must slide both ways. To be honest, if I had to guess I would say this does not have a qwerty. I am not saying you are 100% wrong, but you are making an abosolute statement out of nothing.
We will find out I guess.
