It needs to bring back removable battery. There's no way I'm paying $700 for a device with less USEFUL features than my Note 4.

I feel exactly the same way about the current stagnant state of the smartphone industry, it's beginning to lose its magic just like tablets already have. Now it's just one lackluster release after another, while previous models are still more than capable of handling any and all mobile tasks, which is why I'm reluctant to upgrade any time soon unless the market produces something new and extraordinary to give it some spark again.

Bilal, 27 Jun 2016Seriously Note series was the poineer of everything but now... moreTo BILAL:

Both the S series and Note series are respectful pioneers in their own right. I won't elaborate on it too much but a fine example was the S5 being the first Samsung Galaxy smartphone to feature a heart rate sensor, fingerprint scanner, 16MP camera, isocell camera sensor, phase detection auto-focus, 4K video recording and Ingressed Protection....to list a few. The Note 4 followed the S5 with all the aforementioned except the phase detection and IP67. So don't say the Note has always been a pioneer because if that was the case the Note 3 would have had the stuff the S5 pioneered...don't forget the S4 had 13MP and so does the Note 3. It took the S5 to have a higher Megapixel among many other features which the Note 4 borrowed.

Don't forget the S series is the flagship for the regular sized Galaxy smartphones while the Note is the flagship for the Galaxy phablets. They both stand their ground and they both show their dominance.

Going from the Note 16mp camera over to the S7 edge i can confirm that the 12MP shooter outperforms the old Note sensor in just about every sense.

Love the low light capabilities, colour accuracy, sharpness. its pretty much the best sensor available on a mobile currently. Give it a try before moaning

A 4K display would future proof for VR, but would take a huge toll on screen frame rates and battery life, as well as risk CPU overheating. VR is slowly being adopted, but it is in no way yet so widespread that people are demanding 4K displays or will likely do so in the next 2-3 years...but just about everyone wants more battery life, fast refresh rates and CPUs that don't throttle down after the the handset gets a bit too warm for comfort. Samsung made the right choice.
