N80 is definetly the better phone by a long shot, i would say the SE cam might be bit better but negligibly so, N80 is a series 60 smartphone with 3.2 MPixels, and every other feature imaginable, SE is nice but cannot match nokia smartphones for rich features equipment, what was true for Nokia 7610 comparison to SE s700 is true for this, Nokia 7610 way better phone but s700 slightly better cam N80 wins, it is the truth:)

The photos of Sony Ericsson is bright and vivid. There is little skew. Zero distortion, barrell effect and chromatic abberation. Under low light Nokia exhibits reciprocity failure. The pictures of SE are sharp with true colour rendering. If only SE uses CIF or vga with video 30 fps SE will be far ahead in the game.

Well i think the winner is sonyericsson k800i too, you can clearly tell by looking at the pictures. I also noticed that, even sonyericsson k750i takes better pictures than nokia n80 on macro mode. just look at the pictures closely.

I can say that SE k800i takes photos sharper than n80.The built-in xenon flash of k800i is truly powerful than n80's LED. But when it comes to viewing pictures, I prefer the n80 because of the resolution. Overall, k800i makes pictures better than n80. But n80 is not that bad after all.

both 3mp's quality are horrible, in both pictures you can notice a lot of noise, i don't think that there is a good kamera phone like a digital camera, but until now, all pictures are in bad quality

K800 photo clarity is superior than Nokia as it provide richer colour quality however video wise N80 is better as the flow is smoother - i have not got a chance to check the frame rate per sec of the video though.

Totally agree with you guys, the k800 has better colour tones and thats obvious even by just looking at the picture thumbnails. For me though, id rather have higher video resolution than a very-slightly better picture quality so im definately going for the n80.

In my opinion, I think that K800i takes best pictures while N80 is also very close to it. It loses only while managing the sky and very dense or colored objects. But both the SE were good while taking close shots maybe due to autofocus function. But N80 takes better videos than other two phones. So I think that the winner is K800 no doubt, while N80 is Second and the last is K750. But, maybe we should not compare N80 with K800 since it's a simple 3mpx mobile. The real challenge for K800 is N73. Since they have the same camera specs. Only carl zeiss difference, I guess.

I agree the K800 should be tested with the N73
I'd also love to see a review of the N93 which should be far superior with it's optical zoom and video quality

i really liked the nokia as its still images are great together with an excellent video quality while on the other hand excellent still image quality is all what i am going to get from a k800i.if i had the choice i'd go for the nokia not because i dont like SE but because the overall quality of the Nokia is better.

i looked at these before, and i think w800 (ONLY JUST) wins the photo shootout against the n80.

but looking at the video N80 is well better.

firstly thanks for comparing these two giants, that seems its the same situation that was between K750i and N90, SE has better picture quality and nokia wins the in Video quality...
and as i think am going for K800i!!! but shouldnt we compare K800i to the Next nokia Giant N73???
they have the same form factor, both have same camera resolurion with auto-focus!!!!
