One question, Who in their right mind thinks that a Wi-fi connection is more consistant that a gprs connection ? Who thinks that a gprs connection is more readily available than a gprs connection. Do you guys really prefer to surf on a phone than a PC. Basically put wi-fi is a waste for any kind of phone unless its a pda phone for like business users. If SE made a phone that could play dvd movies it won't make sense, why? There are numerous aspects of movie viewing that can never be done on a phone, same a surfing on a phone compared to a PC. The one thing i know that phone can do pretty well is replacing the need for a Camera, now i found that both pics were equal up to the one where the N80 and K750 showed noise while the K800 didn't show as much and the night shot where the K800 xenon flash came to life. So Picture wise the K800 won. On the video the N80 won but hey lets be honest, does anyone really shoot videos? Nah if you ask me, people more use their cameras than their videos, so again when chosing the better device the good video doesn't weigh in as much as pictures does SOoOoOoOoOoO
The Sony Ericsson K800 win
The N80's wifi is great but somewhat useless, its like having a phone with a 3000 contact capacity ( good but unnessesary)
The N80's better video is good but its not as important as quality pictures.
And another thing, why are people so excited about N91's 4gb micro drive, Aren't 4gb abd 8gb Memory stick duo cards coming soon which means My W800 is basically 4gb with 34 internal verses the N91's 4gb total, not to memtion the better battery life and its obvious more durable since its not using a HDD(Hard disc)

Honestly, nothing comes close to Samsung D600 in pictures or video. Yes D600 does not have auto-focus, but look at the pictures and videos taken from a distance. Superb! Nokia still not doing its job on getting their colours right. SE still not getting their video quality right. Honestly please take a look at th D600 samples, ignore the "no auto-focus" and compare. If comparing 3MP, then bring in Sharp 903SH, it kills the rest.

i dont agree whit your conclusion.,,..k800 wins .,.,,.only because take a little bit more pictures.,..its almost the same .,.,.,.,,..but you forget, all the features that makes n80 ,a lot much better.,.,.,.,..and the deparment of videorecord .,..,.belive me gsm arena.,,..its very important for us .,,.,.and the n80 record better videos than his little brother n90.,.,..,.,.and something amazing.,.,,.
the n80 can play videos at 352 x 288 pixels of resolution and.,.,.,.24 frames per second ,.,.at 720 kbps of bit rate .,..,this is awsome¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡it like dvd quiality in your n80

After looking at the images closely I felt that the N80 has richer colour but the K800 has slightly crisper images. The difference however was not so great as to sway my opinion.
The N80 is the winner in my opinion but not by much.

k800 is alot better....by the time you record a nice video on the N80...you gotta charge the phone...SE wins...

I find both the cell phones equally magnificient in their class.........its upto the consumers to decide which brand they prefer............i have used both nokia and sony ericsson cells and have noticed that nokia is better with stability wheras sony ericsson is not so stable with software but definately beats nokia in sound test........pics taken from nokia cells have a slight unnatural features wheras sony ericsson pics come straight from reality.......over all the video comparison i find nokia wins............
basically i find it nuisance to buy cell phones with 3.2 MP camera......cause they are over priced.....
i own a canon 3.2 MP digi cam and have noticed that they are capable of clicking better snaps than the one's from cells...........so the bottom line is if you are a dedicated to clicking snaps then go for a digicam .........

well, it's obvious k800/k790 wins in pictures, but i must admit it, i was disappointed about sony ericsson, i wanted some more quality.. i mean, i don't think it worth to upgrade from my phone (W810), my sister has a cyber shot 3.2MP, video 640x480, and it takes better pictures than this

ok to clear things up, we are all comparing the quality of the camera of N80 and K800. We are not comparing their features and other stuff that SE doesn't have. The winner is obvious, K800i has a better camera than N80.

Overall characteristics: N80. Simply K800 cant compete with N80 in other features like WiFi, Symbian OS, etc.
But gsmarena shootout only talk about photographic part of this phones.
If you talk about N80 competitor, I say P990!!!
Have the same functions of N80 plus Symbian UiQ (a lot better than S60), all e-mail solutions (RIM, atlexia, etc), for me it will the best smartphone.
You must comment about only the tematic (photographic), and in this part K800 is the best

the k800 has by far a better camera than the n80(and it is not even the final one).its color renditions are better and it has autofocus.se should really think about improving the video quality though.i think a closer fight would be between the k800 and n73.the n73 has a better equipped camera than the n80(carl zeiss and autofocus).

k800 is by far the better cameraphone.however, n80 is by far the better overall phone: better video, better display resolution, s60, wi-fi!!!by the way guys, pictures are taken in sofia land, am i not right?so, my question is whether the phone is already available in bg, I am currently in the us and coming back in 2 weeks and actually want to buy n80 so just curious if it's already out in bg?

K800i is the clear winner , Nokia's camera resolution pictures doesnt even come close.

As a great fan of SE who never had bought except SE, better say that it is so boring that SE just improves the camera quality but doesn't add features such as WiFi or S60. Therefore I say N80 is the winner of the overall comparison.

I think the battery life on the N80 would be a concern for me. Stand-by 192hrs/Talk Time 3hrs VS the K800's Stand-by 350hr/Talk Time 7hr. I think the N80 does have more features (WiFi in particular), but that's not particularly useful if I have to carry an extension cord + charger around...

The conclusion is obvious, K800 is the best at the moment, N80 camera without autofocus simply cant compete with the stunning photo capabilities of K800. K800 photos are comparable in quality with digital still cameras and xenon flash is the best for night shots.
Video is the advantage of N80, QCIF resolution vs CIF in K800.
In this shootout only compare photographic part of this phones.
The people who says that N80 in better than K800 in camera is only because is stup*d, blind or nokia fan!!.
Be objetive, the really competence is between N73 and K800 (both phones have autofocus, while the N80 have fixed focus)

I do not know what you guys talking about but the Nokia N80 pictures are much clearer then the sony K800!!

N80 is the winner no dout about it has beter colors and the videos are beter just the flash is poor
