Just got an email that the first batch shipped on July 12th. The next two batches ship in the next 2 weeks. The waterproof coating was jettisoned though.

Its all got a bit ridiculous. It started off as this amazing device and bit by bit its been downgraded. As if thats not bad enough, its taken so long to release that the technology is now 2 years old. Bluetooth 4.0....Snapdragon 801. Concept wise its great, but I'm just not sure about the processor spec or the choice of os - Sailfish.

It's not that that isn't impressive but who let's their phone get run over by an excavator or a car or anything remotely that heavy? And even if by accident, it will be a very very small number.
They should do the usual drop tests, front down, on a small pebble (I bet some of you cringed a little picturing this in your head). Drop them in the corners like we always do by accident. These are the real everyday drops that majority of people will suffer one time or another. Then let's see how well those nice sharp corners will hold up.

Could've been better if they used Motorola's ShatterShield Solution... Pretty sure everyone prefer a scratched display that a shattered one..

Frankly a woman with needle thin high heels could probably do more damage and hence be more scientifically valid despite looking more like a fetish video than phone torture test (I'll not go into the kind of video that this idea brings up...).
Wide tracks make less pressure, hence tanks can go trough any kind of soil/terrain, and why there are tractors with tracks instead of the huge tires (huge tires also there for the same purpose).
