I have a Samsung s3100 in pink, it is the best phone I have ever had! The camera is far superior to that of phones like the galaxy s and i4. I would be lost without my pink s3100.

apple is trying to clean their hands out of the mess that they made on design flaw of iPhone 4.
come on, you can't call iPhone 4 a "smartphone" if it can't do telephony functions properly. apple is trying to make that problem appear as a software-based flaw but actually it is a hardware design flaw. remember the day when one of apple's engineers jumped out of the company?
that guy went out of apple because he is afraid that he will be sued in the mess that he had done on the iPhone 4.
iPhone 4 is not a perfect phone and it has a fair share of flaws.
Unfortunately, apple is still young in making communication-based hardware. apple is only a 3-year old player in telecommunications industry, so keep in mind that the iPhone may have some great flaws.
I don't trust apple for now because they're no veterans in telecom market as of now and i do not want to spend a money for a smartphone that's unable to do telephony tasks properly.

-it does not have essential fea... moreThe cocoa touch based iOS Apps absolutely annihilate any Java crap, hands down, no contest, take a look at the Epic Citadel demo based on the unreal 3 engine, Java comes nowhere near it.
Wait until Oracle gets done with Google, their Java engine used in Android is not 100% standards compliant, which is a requirement of the Java license. Android will be dead!

the iOS really sucks. why?
-it does not have essential feature that other phone has.
(file manager, sending file over bluetooth, mass storage mode)
-not open source. (come on, everyone's going open source...this is 2010 not 1980s.)
-no java support (still, majority of people do use java applications because of its flexibility and portability)
-no flash support (this is surely the biggest issue here. a web browser that lacks flash support will make you struggle)
-"reception problems" (apple did mention that the way how the iOS measure the signal strength is incorrect)
-harder to jailbreak (the transition from "iPhone OS" to "iOS" made iPhone users to stick to iPhone 3GS, for a short while.)
-social gaming compatibility is too late (apple must have released that feature a lot earlier)
-vulnerability issues (hackers do see the iPhone users as their new target)
-unreal "multitasking" (actually, not all apps in iOS can't multitask. There are only selected apps that can be set to run in background)
-wi-fi connectivity issues
so far, these are the reasons that i see why iOS sucks. but i hope that apple will fix these problems (if they can).

Anonymous, 06 Sep 2010you wrong iphone 4 camera is not better than nokia n97 s... moreLOL wikipedia...hahaha i never trust anything on the internet especially sites where anyone can edit articles..so i don't trust it....i trust my own eyes many friends and colleagues of mine own iPhone 4(6~8 of them) they compared with my N97 camera and hands down N97 owned iPhone 4 in terms of camera even they themselves were impressed by how beautiful and natural the shots were, Taken with the N97 camera(probably cause it has a much better lens and a much stronger dual led flash but xenon is still the best type of camera flash though)..but in terms of video quality (in low light) iPhone 4 wins i agree

People who say xxx brand phone has better camera then iPhone should realize that a camera in a phone is still crap compare to an average digital camera.
Why you ask? In short, the sensor is just too small. The smaller the sensor, the worse the picture quality no matter now many mega pixel it is. If you want to get technical, a 5MP with a 1" sensor takes better pictures then a 10MP camera with a 1" sensor. Why? Because the smaller the sensor, the less light it can receive.
Think about it. If you take out one pixel from each sensor on the above example, each pixel on the 5MP sensor has twice the area as the one in the 10MP. In photography, bigger is better. Bigger lens, bigger sensor = better pictures. Especially in indoor/low light situations.

You can downgrade back to 3.1.3. I did on mine and it runs much better.

In the simplest English, it combines several pictures and brings out the average "brightness" on them all. There's already an app called HDR Pro which combines 2 pictures (taken one after another with different "brightness") and gives you the average.
The one that comes with 4.1 from Apple will combine 3 pictures for more precise averages.
This is the best I can explain it without using any technical terms. Go to apple.com and watch the keynotes for a demo.
