Facetime - Standard created by Apple, managed by Apple (Apple has pledged that it will make it open-source), works through WiFi (at present), higher video/audio quality due to channel transport use

3G Videocall/Video-telephony - Open 3G standard (can be adopted by anyone), 64kbps video stream, lower quality video/audio

Apps on the iphone like Facebook, Twitter, YM, Email, etc. have a push notification option that you can turn on or off. Meaning, you should know if you have new messages or alerts for those social apps. But to be honest with you. I prefer to turn those push notifications off. They can be quite draining on your battery.

Btw, serious business professionals do not use Facebook and Twitter for business updates :) But hey, if that's how you choose to conduct your business, suit yourself :)

A lot of you people are annoying in the sense that you feel the need to come in here to talk about other phones. Stop it.

As for the update it's actually very good news to hear that they're making it better because it was absolutely horrible for 3G owners with the 4.0 update almost unusable. It's also nice to see Apple still taking care of a phone that's 2 generations behind.

Anonymous, 05 Sep 2010When the world goes for products that makes you actually do... moreSorry, also forgot Android, brilliant OS.

I you think going into 10 different apps one at a time for 15 minutes is efficient well than i rest my case.

Personally as i said, nothing is more easier and faster than having all thos apps already in a "open" envoirment on the homescreen.

I don't need apps, casue on my phone this things are done automatically and live straight on my homescreen with little beeps or vibrations, the phone bilnks and if a oick it up it shows med who wrote me e.mail, wrote on a wall, made a tweet, if the wether changes, any news update of my criteria or choice, big stoch changes etc etc.. and i don't even have pres and app or uppdate manually.

What you call automatic is actually manual. Iphone is the manual one, can you say otherwise?

Anonymous, 05 Sep 2010When the world goes for products that makes you actually do... moreDoing thing simply and doing things right way are 2 different things. Also the word "simple" which Apple users abuse alot, is a matter of how you see it.

I personally think Apple and their apps do it the hard way and make it very diffucult for people to do things fast. Sure every function and program has a App you can just press.

It's all a matter perspective without the fanboyism, the question is how Apps can be classified as fast and simple when you have to waste time and energy every 30 min to go inte go inte 10 different apps to get most of your updates and infos.

Whereas as on Windows and Symbian it just quite simply let's you know that you have got a wallpost on facebook, a new e-mail, weather changing, new updates on products, location info, tweets, where your frends are doin etc etc right on your homescreen as it happens, without pressing a single button.

You call apps easy? I call it extremely time wasting and boring. Basically people with 2 much time on their hands that just wanna whip out the phones and press a dreadful app, also usually a app that works halfway to what a real Windows Mobile program would do.

Serious professionals, business people, politicians, university grads and people who want to evolve and involve their phones as proper smartphone tools still use Symbian and Windows, that much you can believe.

So Apps netither does things the fast way or the easy way. What can be easier and faster than getting all your updates straight on the homescreen without even having to touch the phone? You tell me?...

One of the best phones ever made is about to get even better! The 3GS was released July 2009, yet in September 2010 its still being updated to make it a suitable rival for any phone out there.

Those knocking the 3GS, calling it "rubbish" and "crap" simply have no idea how good this phone is. Yeah its not perfect, but there aint no perfect phone out there. In fact im pretty sure the 3GS knockers deep down always wanted one but had to settle for 2nd best, therefore feel the need to slate it.

And to the plum who said Nokia sell more than Apple. Doh!!!!!!! Of course they will sell more handsets as Nokia have about 100 different phones on sale, all ranging from very cheap to expensive. Apple have only had 4 phones on sale since its launch in 2007. And yet not ONE Nokia phone has even come close to being a serious competitor for the iPhone. Nokia are the kings of bringing out pointless new handsets, eg the new 5250!!!! Whats the point of this phone?????
