In my own personal opinion, the main reason for buying a cell phone with bigger screen
(e.g. 5.5 inch) is for convenience. You'll have a wider area for emails, spreadsheets, and visiting websites for instance while on the road. It's a bit cumbersome to carry both a tablet
and a cell phone at the same time. I don't consider economics by buying just a phablet versus buying both a cell phone and a tablet.

Should be 4.7" and 5.1" screens. 5.5" is for the third world who can't afford a tablet as well.

no 64 gb storage option!!!!! This and not sporting front facing speakers are deal brakers. Siriously, why get rid of the 64 gb option!!!

No front facing speakers? No expandable storage? (well that wasn't surprise) Was looking forward to this phones... But without the front speakers and Expandable storage its a no go..

I prefer my Moto X Style for another year... Great camera & battery, expandable storage, android 6.0.1 (and hopefully at least 7.0) & pure android experience out of the box! the only down for X Style is its average quality LCD screen...

Bottom firing speakers is a bummer. I wish it at least had the new Boomsound system on the HTC 10, with one speaker at the top front of the phone and one on the bottom edge of the phone.

Also, I really hope this has OIS, the f/1.8 lens, OIS on the front facing camera, and the other features of the camera in the HTC 10.

And I hope both the HTC Nexus phones have good call quality and in call noise cancellation. Both the Nexus 5X and especially the 6P has some bad call quality issues on many handsets.

That aside, it will be nice if it's true that the phones are identical other than screen size (have the same chipset, etc.). It's a shame to have to have a dumbed down phone, just because you don't want a huge screen.

I'm really crossing my fingers that these phones are nice. I like the HTC 10, so I have high hopes. As far as I'm concerned, the HTC made Nexus One was still the best of the Nexus phones (given the technology of the time). And it had by far the best call quality of any phone I've ever had, even by todays standards, with the Audience noise cancellation chip that no one seems to use anymore. It would be nice to have an HTC phone again.

Anonymous, 01 Jul 2016Still on my Nexus 5. Waiting for the next Nexus which will ... moreThat would be a good phone! better speakers, better camera with OIS, and super amoled also.
Now for some features that most probably won't be added lol: removable battery and micro sd card support!

I knew the successor of the 5X was going to be expensive since it's made by HTC, at least this time the specs will better match the price. Also, Google must've gotten tired of Huawei's shit bc of their easily bendable phone lol
