Sony Xperia E5 battery life test

08 July, 2016
What good is a smartphone if you have to charge it every six hours or so? That's why the last couple of years phone makers have been trying to hit the right balance between potent specifications and acceptable battery life. In the case of the Sony Xperia E5, the company's credo is "more battery equals a happy customer."

Everybody needs to chill. If the new chips are proving to be a stumbling block for Sony then it's nothing a few updates won't fix.

And maybe it has something to do with the 28nm chip as well.

Is this possible, sony outsources its r&d tasks to other company?
I dont know why sony's products become not-so-good since x series.
All were good prior to x series.

Anonymous, 10 Jul 2016Somehow E4g got same battery life with a mediatek processor... moreMediatek is just a brand that does many kinds of SoCs, just because one model performs well doesn't mean the other will perform just as well... Case and point: Samsung increased the battery life of their S7 (vs the S6) by using a smaller capacity battery and Android 6.0.

How is Sony and Mediatek crapiness a fault of Android 6.0?

I am willing to retreat back to my cave if Sony manages to pull this E5 out from 6.0 Marshmallow with that chipset

The problem isn't from chipset but from OS (but Mediatek still power hungry thought). And Sony have to fix their algorithm on newer OS like Marshmallow, or maybe Nougat.

What is wrong with you Sony? You had the legendary reputation of killer battery life and with the x series and now this you've thrown it all away. Do you want to be shut down? Coz that's how you get shut down.

Moto G (2nd Gen) has similar endurance rating at half its price if battery is the only spec to be concerned about
