AMOLED vs. S-LCD HTC Desire screens fight it out

14 September, 2010
It's time for round 2 of the AMOLED vs. S-LCD match. It's not cut-and-dry, S-LCD does well in contrast and color reproduction, though not so well when it comes to the promised lower power usage and sunlight...

most important thing is contrast, if you look at the s-amoled screen you see black as black, if you look at s-lcd you see black as grey. also power consumption and flexibity issues there. samsung gonna rule mobil screen industry.

[deleted post]yeah man, some people has no brain to think. they like cheap nokia phones something like 50 bucks. Can't think beyond that.

They should make comparison with Wave's super AMOLED to S-LCD and they should see a big different. How about refresh rate? You can see a big different when using video camera. LCD can't follow super AMOLED at all in refresh rate. Moreover, even Apple retina display can't follow it too to super AMOLED.

WHO CARES. we are now getting into hd screens and the price of handsets are just going up stupidly. we sell handsets and most people dont care about the screens aslong as they are clear and bright they love it. we dont need to go any further. its just putting the prices up and making phones less affordable and networks charging premiums. i do want to sell to earn some money
