LG G5 gets an update, June security patch included

got an update notice today and it said to plug in phone to wall to assure battery charge..i came back 1 hr later and now phone is totally dead..any ideas out there.phon is only 2 months old

I found the problem in QuickMemo+, the contents will be lost when I save something if it is first time for new document.

Done an update on my lg g5 today, it's now stuck in a reboot loop. It turns on gets to the homepage where the apps are but has two white lines top and bottom, and says programe is not responding asks if I want to wait or close if I wait it keeps asking, if I close it goes into reboot and stays on the LG start up screen and can't turn off without removing the battery. Any ideas

But im in the tech/security business and i tend to test and use lots of phones. Yes, Samsung has really delivered consistent updates, both maintaining monthly security updates and polishing its apps and features. I for one am surprised, i think they wanted to get into the enterprise sector so security is a big deal, and security updates should be consistent in that matter.
I wish LG follows the same footsteps, atleast at their flagship phones.
But really what i think is their issue is the bulk of variants they make of the same phone, i mean thats a big headache to manage and push updates to. They need 2 international variants and thats it, that would make their life and peoples life much easier.

I got problem after this update
Hello
Yesterday i updated lg g5 but now i have problem when i give a permission to an app
It say (screen over lay detected
To change this permission setting you have to turn off the screen overlay from setting->apps)
I turned off all screen overlays but still cant give permission to apps it say screen overlay detected again and again like messenger and fb
Any solution?!!!

I got this update on my LG G3 and now I can not turn my phone on! What to do now who is going to replace my phone? Who do I call Is LG going to do anything? I spoke to 2 other people who have an LG and both said that the phone is also no good stuck in a reboot mode same as mine. I have pulled the battery and tried to turn on several times it just reboots and stays on the Life is good screen..... Life is NOT good!

Anon, 14 Jul 2016I own this phone along with the 360 cam and VR plus the bat... moreI follow phone technology but I don't upgrade often. My last phone before the G5 was a Note 1 and the board died in Spring so i got the LG. I ride em til they die. The old Sammy phones never got updates, you would get an update once a year or so to the newest Android and then nothing.
I guess Samsung really stepped up their game. I don't really do anything financial on it that I require lots of security so not a big deal for me. Plus the G5 has no major flaw except for the battery life in my model as I said before.

I like what LG has done here but the problem is the execution here, and i would actually use this phone if not for these slow updates, im actually happy to see this post cause my LG G5 is still at April security patch, which is unfortunate.
Updates make you feel that your phone has longevity and that the company cares about your security/privacy. If LG changes their update strategy i would switch to using the G5 as my daily driver.
In comparison:
S7 Edge is on June security patch
HTC 10 is on June security patch
Oneplus 3 is on June security patch
That's whats causing me to feel bad, is that my phone is unlocked and bound to no carrier and im still on April patch, and the June patch shows up 1 whole month later from the other brands? I mean there has to be something wrong with people in charge of this, its their flagship, they have to show care towards us the customers.

That's what has initially stopped me from buying LG G5, i like every aspect of it but the issue at hand is LG is really slow when it comes to updates. Specially here in Dubai, we get the LG H860 which is unlocked and it's still showing April patch, in comparison S7 Edge is on June patch, even HTC 10 is on June patch.
Either that LG have to reduce the ton of variants when making a new flagship phone (Like the iPhone or Nexus) or that they need to change the team responsible of pushing these updates.
