HTC don't have a brand name at all that Samsung and Apple use to be... They are just an another random Android OEM that trying hard to be and currently fighting for their existence... I still considered Apple is the most dumpest when it comes in pricing their products, but the good things with them is, they stick for being on premium category, they have the best aftersale of all, services/stuffs that only exclusive for them and own operating system that make them very different and unique by some circumstances, great updates and support from Apple, let alone its performance, build quality, how the software and ui judge by their every users. iPhone holds media and Apple are everywhere! You may hate Apple, we may hate Apple yes! But if you own or buy their product, you won't be turn into feeling loss for a long time at least... Some people buy it: because of its name, "yeah it's an iPhone, everyone loves iphone so I will buy it", some think that if you own an iPhone, you may look rich and use it as status que... Because they only sells premium (Although it's just the pricetag lol, Some buy it because of its unique stuff, services that exclusive only for it, support that get it compare to others etc etc... Samsung may not and may never be as premium as Apple, but at least they are not trying hard like this HTC. HTC did not even bother to advertise their product... The more people know you, the more worth you! HTC is still "unknown brand" in some countries and by some folks.

I wouldn't touch an M10,if you think I would pay almost same money for lower spec hardware,then HTC really are dreaming.HTC are on their way out,phones are overpriced and mid rangers are rubbish with zero updates..if 've turns out to be the big flop I t think it will be,then HTC are cooked...it's no more than they deserve,they gave up after the hd2,m8/m9 were ok,everything else since hd2 has been crud,but they still demand top price for mid tier specs and quality and no updates..

I agreed with you . I bought htc 10 and I am extremely regret to buy it, a crap phone with bad display and camera with cheap internals. Many display and Wifi issues. This is the crap phone of the year, and fanboy using them is like a crapstyle. One plus 3 is much better than this crap phone.
Be careful in reading those tech blog / site. Htc has changed its marketing strategy and heavily paid several tech blogs / sites to praise their 10, which much cheaper than TV commercials and other tradition channels. So you will see extremely inconsistent reviews and you will notice there are praise for 10 crapy camera from time to time. What a shame!

Yes, crappy because their build quality is ZERO. Because of iTunes, because of speakers, because of battery life and because after one year they lag af.
I bought the IP5 when it came out, accidentally dropped it the same day, the screen broke into million pieces.
Crappy because for a mediocre phone they ask way more than it is worth it.
They have amazing marketing skills, unlike HTC. And that's about it.
Crappy because you cannot root them , and because they are limited, like most iPhone users, lets go spend 900 Euros on a phone and only use it to dial and send messages.

do you call crap a company that provides software updates to phones for over 5 years. did I say iphone 4s. check its specs .. yeah crappy phone by the date but amazing support. many are jealous and wish that the really crappy android could provide atleast 3 years of updates to their nexus ,no talk about manufactures with fixed UI.
crappy because the OS works seamless with hardware and you don't need a lot of resources as android needs with every single update and even after reaching phone with over 3gb of ram they fail short to a 1gb ram device when you try to multitask .. did I say Samsung devices wich reload apps ...
for me ips screens are better than amoled.... close to real life not cartoon colors oversaturated watching somebody picture on those devices makes you look sick. yellow skin or green ...
the only thing where android wins is in the camera department since 2015 which devices such G4 ,V10 and s6 ... but if we talk about ....
screen .resolution then ..we talk about a waste of energy and process.... if u have a phone with 720p - 1080p .... is not good enough for you ... I mean my home tv is 1080p and I can watch a movie perfectly on it why it should be worst on my phone .._++_+_ why will I need a 2k or 4k screen draining my battery .... and slowing down the performance ........
if u see android is the waste u need to wait thousand years and cross fingers to know if your phone will even get an update .. and if so then u must wait another months if your a variant was not the one listed..... except nexus of course ......
so wich is the crappy company now ................. I have an android lg G2 wich perfoms pretty well as any other flagship out there ...it used to be though. .. it has the minimum requirements for an update and extended life cycle but we get 2 years and that's it .... and the worst part is that this 5.0.2 rom has issues making me go back to kitkat ....being android N around the corner ... do you think that people are interested in this kind of a support .... no word at Samsung wich shines as a sun due to the ** speedy updates ** Sammy people know what I mean.

In some countries (Poland for example) you can't even buy the 10 because of operator-sale only. In these countries they offer you the Lifestyle at stupid price of about 670 euro. Which is the price of the Galaxy S7 for example. How stupid is this? And then HTC is surprised why their phones sell so bad. People have to import the 10 from abroad while S7 is available on the shelves, with promotions like 1 year screen protection. And what HTC gives you? The Lifestyle crap with the price of the S7.
Another thing - in countries where the full 10 is available there are supply problems (3 months after the release!) - for example you can't buy the dark version from Amazon DE or Amazon UK.
Bottom line: good work HTC in decreasing your market share!

Only thing whot could be bad with Htc, is marketing. Quality of fones is aut of question. The best !!!!
Whot is the Mercedes for auto industry, thats Htc for mobile.
Have 10. for a one month, and its a beast of hardware.
But for bether seling need a bether marketing.

Lifestyle would have been a real competition to last year flagship devices if the price wouldn't be a joke. I live in one of mentioned emerging market countries. And from sale reports we know that shelves are bending from HTC LIFESTYLE. Who would choose this over S7 or any other smartphone, both devices carry similar price tag.
People responsible for strategy in HTC are insane in my opinion. Even if HTC built great flagship this year that will not help them to survive on the market if they won't change they attitude to customers.

I think soon we will only be left with options of apple, samsung, lenomoto and xiaomi, as the strategy by sony, lg, htc seems to be price their phones ridiculously to cover losses
Prices are going ridiculuously high last 1.5 yrs and apple and isheeps are partly to blame for that

The problem is that the brand HTC isn't associated with expensive, exclusive or elusive products. They started as an OEM-manufactorer for every jack-shit company around. So they're synonymous for the exact opposite of exclusive, chique or high-end.
They should have created another brand to sell these phones which is not visibly associated to HTC. Like OnePlus which is in essence an OPPO subsidiary. While OPPO itslef is associated with cheap, OnePlus is regarded as more high-class. HTC should have done the same. They made a grave error that will eventually be fatal to them.
I suspect that soon someone will buy HTC and then probably the brand and products will vanish.
