LG superfan, 16 Jul 2016But mediatek is powerhungry and has way less performance th... moreWith last year's DoC, MT(K) did great job... Entry and mid-level with MTK in it were crushing Qualcomm's rivls (6835 vs sd410, 6853-sd615), even top Tier Xelio had great chanse to "fight" with SD 810,even though it wasn't perfect...810 was even worse.

One of good things with MTK SoC's was that they are cheap, so they ware best value for money, but this year, they are left behind.
SD65* and 820 are just too god, and some divices equipped with them are so cheap that it is not worth of thinking to buy some MTK alternative. (this Meizu is perfect example...it's specs just don't compet on many levels to the similar priced competition)
I would think about MT device only in entry level devices, as i still don't trust SD415.. But if you buy it, you know it won't be getting full from community, as MTK is not very open with their source codes..

The device looks good, though the price I think is on the steep side. I mean... I can get a Mi5 for that money. But because it is 2016 the lack of NFC is discouraging to say the least. Mobile payments is a reality (at least in USA and Europe), not to mention other uses of NFC.

So I will pass... I do not like my phones missing essential features.

And in standby, your phone isn't supposed to be using the processor. If it is, then its the rom or your fault.

Understand that it is mainly your phone rom/settings/signal/how you use it which determines battery drain, not the processor.

i wish they start using snapdragon SoCs . Mediatek powered phone is not worth $345. I have MX5, love its design but performance is horrible cuz of mediatek helio X10. the phone draws lots of power even in idle mode at night. seriously its a joke.
