This is what i expected... Delays and more delays... If they were planning the update sooner why X8 will come with the outdated 1.6 too? So this makes all sense and its one more reason for me to stay away from SE phones

I visit this thread because I find it very funny. Some ppl talk about Froyo and Gingerbread of X10 which both require (at least) 512 MB Ram, while X10 has 300 something MB of RAM. ROFL:)))).

Yeah, great phone... too bad Sony is lagging on the software support. Who knows, maybe they're planning to surprise everyone with a Gingerbread update at the end of the year ;) Then again, I'm sure they'd be bragging and using that as a selling point if they were. Ah well...

Boy, SE sure knows how to piss people off, only to make them more agitated further down the road...but I'm still happy with my X10, just kinda ticked...argh...

Why are people on this forum so angry?
My x10 still runs PERFECT at the moment....
A bonus of HD video recording with continuous focus plus SE custom UI(UX) update is great. Ya it sucks having to wait another month for these nice features, but hey! at least xperia users are getting a decent upgrade.
Other manufacturers do quick updates on firmware without upgrading any of the phone features.

I thought the 2.1 update was supposed to hit before 4th quarter and even then most other manufacturer is running froyo, so sad. Good thing I switch to samsung galaxy S for tmobile, but vibrant update to 2.2 is push back to october also!

whatever it may be sony ericsson is the best... Still i love it.... I cnt forget the greatest phones frm se like w810, k810, w700, w595 , xperia x1 , x2 much more and more ..

Bad news for X10 family users. I am quite surprised to hear this (though prolly shouldnt be..)and hope they learn and improve on this for the future. I am waiting for the next high end smartphone from SE, which will prob take forever but meh dun care..get htc desire hd first while waiting!!
But honestly most users won't care about updating this and that, they just want a phone to use and im definite the X10 fulfills most peoples needs. Only the tech enthusiasts on sites like this that care a lot.
