27 September, 2010
Microsoft is preparing a big Windows Phone 7 event on 11 October and a release date just ten days later. The Redmond-based company denies everything except the event date, but what else could it be about...

I really dont know if WM7 will be a sucesss only time will tell. but it would seem the Microsoft are trading on the fact that you will do what you need to do on your mobile and get on with the rest of your life hence the fact that the UI is simply throughout and not just a holding machine for apps. A mobile phone is not a mobile computer although they seem to going that way its a phone. What i have seen so far i like its just simply it dosent have rows and rows of apps i dont have to route my phone to get the best out of it. I love android but i am so sick of the Fragmentation and the issues that arise from that namely no games and very few well thought out apps in the market. also the bad battery life due to the fact that multitasking is so bad. I hate to say it but i really am looking into the Iphone or WM7 as my next phone.

Windows Phone 7 is not a complicated operating system. In fact, that's why they started again after 6.5 - to make Windows Phone a coherent, logical and speedy system. There is nothing to touch it right now in terms of a live start screen and logical built in apps. Copy and paste is on its way, as is tethering. This is really going to be one to watch!

Anonymous, 27 Sep 2010No Removable MicroSD, boring slunky UI, standardised MS UI,... moreYou are absolutely right!! And you know what is worse? MS taking the Apple way in being so selfish and closed to everything out there... No support for microSD?? How pathetic is that! No wonder Android is kicking the snot out of every other OS outhere!!!

Anonymous, 27 Sep 2010people who find WinMo too complicated to use, I have a ques... moreNo Removable MicroSD, boring slunky UI, standardised MS UI, No HTC Sense it already feels like a clunker :( I have used WinMo from the days of the PocketPC iPaq yes iPaq through to the various incarnations upto the dopod 838pro. Held out for HTC HD3/WinMo7 - boring. Android is taking market share from apple and will be the new market leader. MS another missed opportunity.

ok, true, i've never used WP7. but since they said they will focus on doing a few things well and not try to do everything, it just sounds like an excuse to leave out important things that android and other OS have been enjoying. the event is promising though. i can't wait to see microsoft make a decent comeback.

yes, 6.5 was complicated. it caused me to sell my xperia x1 in a week. unless it's faster than android, i dont see a reason to switch.

Windows mobile 7 is quite promising. So we might have to wait a bit a long and see.

people who find WinMo too complicated to use, I have a question for them - Are you comfortable using a computer?? If yes, then you should obviously be fine with WinMo too. But if you are dumb enough to find computers complicated, please stop using all electronic gadgets and find a way to stone age.
WinMo always had better features than any other phone OS. Its just that very few ppl have explored it. And why do you people post bad comments for WP7 when the fact is you have never used it? Use your brain ppl... dont go with what other's say, be smart and post comments only after you have done ur research...Microsoft has put the best architects to design WP7 and I think its too early to comment anything. Wait and watch, the results will be positive...
