Screwyluie, 25 Jul 2016I disagree. Using the lg g4 for VR is lack luster. It has a... moreI use that PPI as it is the PPI marker for retina displays - as in, what the eye can see. Secondly, you will find LG, Samsung, HTC, Huawei, Sony etc all advertise as 2K, so I'm using the same terminology as the manufacturers. VR does not need resolution higher than 1080, if you see pixelation, get better equipment or just accept that, actually, it doesn't really matter. VR won't be worthwhile for years yet.

While going through all the comments, it seems we r expecting a super device with massive battery, VR, expandable memory, best display for movies experience, best SOC for games and multi media, excellent camera, best audio output and so on.
Except call, messages and emails, most of the functions are of specialized devices, which our phones serves as add on for those functions.
Too much expectations leads to high disappointment and no,phone is perfect.
Wait till it is released.

This one will probably have the same sub-par battery size, like all the other Nexus phones, say 2600-2800 mAh, no 3500 or so that some Motorola has, but the Nexus 6P did have 3450 mAh, but came with a Snapdragon 810 and 74h endurance rating. The current 5X has 2700 mAh and only 60h endurance rating, it that because of the snapdragon 808, maybe.

Google should make 3 unibody Nexus phones .
A 5.0 inch 1080 p display model and dimensions less than 142x69x7mm and a 6.0 inch unibody 2k phablet that measures less than 160x77x7mm.They should also build a 5.5 inch model with both 1080p and dimensions less than 152x74x7mmmm.Stereo speakers are a must. All phones should have the same 4gb ram Sd 820 (821 for the 6.0 inch one) and good cameras as well as 3000/3500/4000 mah batteries.Plain as that!

AnonD-241270, 25 Jul 2016sure for everyday use...but for VR is a must have, and SD82... morefor me vr are not nessesary I prefer good battery life and performance and 1080p will do it at the end of the day and you example is wrong fiat is a phone 2k struggling for a good delivery of battery / performance but 1080p turns the device in to a Ferrari tuned. for me VR is useless and there are not so many apps or things we can use .....same that when 3d was in....just a few phones a few apps and then dust over it..... same for modular phones people said wooahhh ... nice ..... must have then lg delivers and dust over to it.. same goes for moto z ........ people don't know what they want....

Huawei are going to use 2K at some point, when Google's VR Play store launches. At current, VR isn't VR it's just 3D. Until that point, 2K screens are not a necessity. I've never had any issues with pixelation in VR at 1080, personally. Although I do use a proper headset not just a phone accessory.

AnonD-241270, 25 Jul 2016sure for everyday use...but for VR is a must have, and SD82... moreNot benchmarking at all. They're just realising it's a waste of time. You do NOT need 2K for VR at all. Especially since you can 'do' VR fine on anything higher than 330ppi (1080@5.5" equals 401ppi) so any argument here is void. 2K is just another spec on the sheet, like 6gb RAM and a CPU clock no one uses.
