AnonD-510098, 27 Jul 2016Needs T880 MP12 to make it a flagship killer As it is, MTK is unable to sustain performance with Mali T880 MP4 in Helio X20/25 due to heating issues. If MTK put Mali T880 MP12 in their SoC, it will beat SD 810 in overheating competition within few seconds. Simply put, MTK is not capable of coming up with efficient SoC with huge raw GPU power YET. Hopefully, things change in future for the benefit of MTK fans/fanboys in this forum.

AnonD-551967, 27 Jul 2016mali t880 is good ? t880 mp12 is good but mp4 is shit LOL, Mali T880 in MediaTek Helio X20/25 is shit, but the ones in Exynos 8 series is good?
Looks like u miss the point here, DUDE...

MediaTek ever since using Cortex A7 ALWAYS in energy-saving oriented plan. Look at their track record history in SoC manufacturing. They even come as far as using the low performance but energy-saving Mali 400, 450, PowerVR SGX series, instead of Mali T-series or PowerVR G series (Rogue) like Apple & Intel did.

They upped their game in recent Helio sub-brand, which while still mantaining their energy-saving plan, also try to give the best processing power & gaming performance, hence the use of combination Cortex A72 with A53 & Mali T880 & T860. BUT, this comes with limitation, that is low core count in GPU departments, as GPU is one of the power-hungry in smartphones world.
        The result is, their Helio X10, X20, & X25 looks like half-baked FLAGSHIP-grade SoC.

If u don't want that kind of SoC, then ur only option is to buy SD 650 or 652 powered Android, or HiSilicon 950 or 952 (powered the VERY EXPENSIVE android phone from Huawei).
OR just buy any smartphones with SD 820 for the best performance in both CPU & GPU.

AnonD-551967, 27 Jul 2016mali t880 is good ? t880 mp12 is good but mp4 is shit Nope, Mali T880 MP4 GPU used in Helio X20/25 is about 25% better than Adreno 510 GPU used in SD 650/652 in terms of raw power. However as another person pointed out, Helio X20/25 would not be able to sustain the performance for long periods of time due to heating issues. I would anyday take a mobile with SD 650/652 over ANY MTK powered device.

But based on my previous experience, x20 and x25 phones normally either not stable in deliver the performance and tend to overheat. Hopefully Xiaomi could fix this because the only company that manage to do that is QiKu.

LG superfan, 27 Jul 2016X25 is faster but also overheats after 20mins of high gamin... moreMediaTek X20 & X25 has both better CPU & GPU. Both packs 2core Cortex A72 @2.3-2.5 GHz & 8core Cortex A53.
If u talk about CPU, cortex mantra for better power processing is 'the more, the merrier', so even though SD 652 pack 4core Cortex A72, they also underclocked it to 1.8GHz. This resulted in the low performance comparable to SD 650.
When u talk about GPU, Adreno 510 is at best 'above average', while Mali T880 is one of the best mobile GPU solution up to date. The only thing that make MediaTek X20/X25 lose in gaming aspect is they only pack measy 4core of T880 (T880 MP4), while Samsung packs 12 of them in their latest Exynos 8 SoC. This makes both Helio X20/X25 &SD 650/652 have similar score in gaming aspects.
The only problem is, Helio X25 in Meizu Pro 6 evidently shown overheating, while we still don't know much about Helio X20, as no extensive review about the device using X20 SoC at the moment
