I'm an android user. Apple will see a dip in sales with this device as tbh If I want to watch movies or listen to music I don't want a load of cables and a having to buy something every other phone has even Old Nokia and £10 smartphones! Lol xD

Apple is making a bet and based on its actual situation I don't think this is a good idea at this time. Jobs used to come out with new things and not change things that could disappoint half of its customers

Uhm... It shouldn't be hard to make a protective case that gives you extra juice with lightning port AND 3.5mm port. How's that? It shouldn't be a problem I guess with a reasonable thickness since the phone sliced some dimensions. I'm really not hyped about this phone but I think I'd get one and it's gonna be good. I liked it when I had my very first iOS device (iPad Pro 9.7) after using Windows and android devices. Nothing against them but I love the fluidity and guaranteed software updates for as long as the hardware can hold on for each Apple device.

AnonD-434295, 29 Jul 2016The one that cost $100That's my point, manufacturer must give people the flexibility, either they will plug the headphone into 3.5 mm jack or usb-c. They cannot say 3.5 mm jack need to be removed because they want to give premium sound quality. 3.5 mm jack must stay there.

first things first........ moreOk i agree with you about that lighting conn. Imo apple will release its own converter with external DAC, or DAC inside the headphone, probably beats since its own by apple. Sure it will come with high pricing.
Some headphone manufacturer has begun to build USB-C support headphone, recently JBL announce such thing. Microusb soon will become history.

So people, imagine situation like this: Apple installs veryfing chip, that checks if you connect only Apple-made adapter. Others are blocked. And the Apple genuine costs 69-99 USD.
