Somebody should really update gsmarena on 4g in Kenya we have it for like two years now which reminds me why does Samsung sell 3g versions of some phone models in Kenya???? It was a rude shock to me when I bought a galaxy j5 to discover it had no 4g

I being a heavy reader and not really interested much in alot of applications would like to experience how efficient this phone is in performance and battery backup up
but not the Z2. Too weak and processor. Currently using a A5 2016 but since a galaxy Z5 is not anywhere in the near future I am going for an oppo as my next device

Seriously? Kenya has had 4G for the last 3 Years. In fact there are plans to switch off 2G network in near future in favour of 3G and 4G.
We are not that backward as GSMARENA .

Triton, 29 Jul 2016Testing bed? ... Anyways it won't go far over here in Niger... moreI saw the headline and figured out Samsung's intention even before reading this piece.
Nigeria is knee-deep into the Android party, bringing Tizen out here would pretty much be a waste of everyone's time. However, if Samsung plans on reinforcing their OS, it will require investment billion of dollars in marketing and advertising. Multiply that by the number of markets they plan on carrying out these tests at.
I foresee this being an uphill battle for Samsung. It's akin to the Ottoman Empire staging a seige on the Greek islands... That last YEARS. Very little was ever achieved from that seige.

deewinc, 29 Jul 2016What is the need of having 4G only to experience 3G HSPA+ s... moreIn Canada we have Lte-advanced which is true 4g unlike the LTE deployed in most places. And we can get up to 3gigs/s on fixed wireless locations and speeds are typically usually higher than 100mbps on the phone, depends on the phone quite a bit though as it needs to be able to handle it.

AnonD-565808, 29 Jul 2016What do mean Kenya is upgrading its 2G network??!! Dude get... moreKenya and East Africa stopped using 2G many years ago, save for the rural areas. The authors have to travel to Kenya and test how internet speeds are much better than other parts of the developed world

deewinc, 29 Jul 2016What is the need of having 4G only to experience 3G HSPA+ s... moreFastest 4g in the world? I doubt that. I googled and this show up, "Safaricom is one of the 3 cellular networks in Kenya. Safaricom has an average 3G download speed of 2.3 Mb/s, which is better than the global average of 1.8 Mb/s. Safaricom is a 4G network."
Even the 3g speed is not even that high. So, I wouldn't expect its 4g to be any faster. Top 5 fastest 4G network are these:
New Zealand, 36 Mbps
Singapore, 33 Mbps
Romania, 30 Mbps
South Korea, 29 Mbps
Denmark, 26 Mbps
So,that editors enjoying 20mbs 4G speed is pretty impressive in global scale.
