Here is a piece of my mind. Microsoft has always been a standard and a good performer but they have never been outstanding or may be they have at rare instances. This is more like a helpless cry towards the wildfire like increasing popularity of Android which is sensational. Windows mobile has not been the best OS around anyways it has just been good lets just hope that people actually start focusing more on development rather than on filing law suits.

[deleted post]Slow your role moto fanboy. I actually have a Cliq and a Droid given to me by a cousin and Moto display favorism over the Droid. I'm pretty sure you looked at Moto Forums. One question if you think Moto and the driod is all bad why are people have 2.2 issues on their driod and DX phones sherlock.

WM7 is a long overdue joke and MS are suing!!?? They should hold their heads in shame and offer an apology for WM7!!! Android is only gaining their market space because of MS's arrogance and stpididy!! I am starting to see MS being to the mobile market what Novell was to the PC networking world in the mid to late 90's! Novell had 90% of the market and now are effectively out of it completely and in the phone arena are not coming from anywhere near that position of strength!

Really Motorola customized the ui the features aren't entirely the os it's the way the phone process store updates and presents the information That's why they're being sued

"It’s also a bit strange that it’s the device manufacturer that gets sued, not whoever created the infringing OS." - motorola has embeded in their mobile software on the phone features such as 'changes in signal strength' and 'battery power'...it is not default with android.
The apparent 'infringing' operating system (android) is 'open-source' thus making it 'profit free'...thus copyright goes out of the window.. (I think).

[deleted post]Jealous! Why phones are announced then? I don't need to use each phone Moto announce to judge it. Why GsmArena put specifications on announced phones? Jealous and crazy SE fanboy. Like it or not Moto is upcoming the best for me not for you OKAY be free and go play with your x10 that run the oldest android OS almost in 2011.

Anonymous, 04 Oct 2010Google licenses Microsoft Activesync for it's Gmail servers... moreSo that's why. Well then, I think Motorola should just pay for royalties and get over it with immediately.

Lolz...This is one way to stay in the picture..After a huge failure at their end with their kin family, Microsoft thought it would be more better if it give it's lawsuit department a slight push and ask 'em to work for a change :) I mean come on, first it was HTC, now Motorola..who's next? I ain't saying that Motorola is all naive and hasnt' done what Microsoft says it has but is the Legal Department, the only working department in this company? Give me a break ! :p

similikiti, 04 Oct 2010Well ... why motorola? why not others? because motorola is ... moreGoogle licenses Microsoft Activesync for it's Gmail servers BUT not for Android.
Apple licenses Microsoft Activesync.
Nokia licenses Microsoft Activesync.
HTC licenses Microsoft Activesync.
That's how contacts, email and calendars are synced.
Motorola doesn't, so they are being sued.
Activsync is required to support Exchange, which is the most widely used method for business.
Blackberry has their own system.

Original_Jamaican, 03 Oct 2010I don't see the big issue over the lawsuit where syncing is... moreWell ... why motorola? why not others? because motorola is US company. While nokia, samsung, etc is non US which can't be sued globally. That's why.
About suing user experience of synchronization, well ... only US can do that ... I suppose ...

The company that invented the cellphone is being sued, I guess it would be hard for the inventor of the cellphone as we know it today ,with everybody trying to follow suit it would be easiest for them to just file a suit to try and keep up.

Droid Terminator, 03 Oct 2010Better Motorola because the release news phone with 1.6 but... moreThe X10 is getting an update this month. And the phones you listed are from the Droid line and going to Verizon. And everybody knows Moto favors them over T-Mobile.
Motorola isnt the master of Android plain and simple. I dare you to go to the Motorola Forums and say that. People will think you are crazy.
