Sueing over software patents.. there should be like a 2 year limit to those.. So dumb.. the problem is microsoft is probably going to win it legally because what they say here is true no matter how stupid and pathetic it may seem.

Only in America can people be sued for such ridiculous and STUPID reasons such as this.

Makes me feel embarressed to be living here sometimes. You'll almost NEVER see any of this crap anywhere else.

Microsoft obviously wants to make money off of this. Hope that Motorola pulls through cause they just hit their high point and they don't need some BS from Microsoft to pull them down.

I don't see the big issue over the lawsuit where syncing is concerned. Non-smartphones can snyc data. My old non-smartphone Nokia 6230 (one of the best phones of all time) could sync contacts using SyncML and my present Nokia E51 can sync contacts, notes and calendar using SyncML. So I would like to know what Microsoft means when they say features like syncing "are essential to the smartphone user experience", because I as just pointed out, even non-smartphones can sync data.

First you starved us for fixes on the miserable Windows Mobile, while we were dependent on you!
Now, after many years, finally other people came to help your neglected users, you're going to sue them for their kindness?

                          F U

You think everybody can't see through this? Maybe the judge will see right through your phony patents as well. God, when will the U.S. patent office get a grip? Maybe Google should design a special search engine for them, so they won't always be too lazy to look up prior art and proceed to grant patents that are so broad, you can't brush your teeth without violating a score of them.

They would NEVER act like trolls and sue people cause they missed the boat by years, and are now desparate to get Windows Phone 7 pushed into the market.

And of course they'd never sue over patents they just filed as a joke, since there was plenty of prior art.

it has to do with HOW the emails were synced, etc. not what it is, but how the process is done.
