AnonD-196068, 03 Aug 2016Not when you have over 60 gb of data it isn't. You don't represent everyone, Samsung did their research and the results stated the average user barely utilize 32GB let alone 64, then you have micro expansion and cloud storage. No need to take your entire porn collection with you everywhere bud lol

I wouldn't expect Samsung to deliver something that far ahead in that time. Or any other manufacturer come to that. Realistically I think 18 to 24 months is reasonable. I have found few worth upgrades at only 12 months historically.

Of Course, comparing this to the iPhone offerings would certainly be a hell of a joke..., aside from the very fact, that it would certainly become a no-brainer to decide which one to get!
However, as an honest Samsung fan I would say, that this, is not a worthy upgrade. NOT AT ALL!, especially if you currently own a Galaxy S7-edge, or even a note 5 on that matter... Iris scanner is just an additional layer of security that can easily, and simply be
ignored at this very moment, if your only main concern really; is simply, security!
fingerprint scanner and KNOX security, are more than enough to greatly guard all of your personal, And even your corporate stuffs if need be. and High Dynamic Range (HDR content) these days,
is still on its infancy and developmental stage; and something, that you really cannot use, right out-of-the-box.
I simply am quite disappointed in this release of the note, having only small iterations…, just akin to the iPhones.
if they have just opted to put on either the SD821 or the Exynos 8893 on-board; coupled with 6GB of DDR4; perhaps, UFS 3.0 if it is already be available; a very loud and great sounding stereo speakers just like the Idle 4S; and a 4000mAh battery, regardless of the UFS1.0 storage technology and a 4K display; this, could have been a very worthy upgrade!
Not unless of course; you have all the moneys in the world to procure, currently just owning a technologically detestable iPhones; and FINALLY realize the very need to switch to the ultimately complete, and the greatest smartphone ever created; and the most technologically advanced Smartnote ever, or; you simply don't have a smartphone, and want to buy one.
But again to reiterate my point; as a big, if not one of the biggest Samsung fan allover the world, if you really want to upgrade just and only just, for the sake of having the latest and the greatest all-the-time, then by-all-means, upgrade! But, if what you want is to somehow, feel the utmost worthiness of the upgrade, and to possibly experience the very best upgrade of your techie-life, wait for the weight, of the Galaxy S8!
I fervently hope, that Samsung would be able to read this heartfelt comment of mine…, because I deeply, and sincerely love this company. I really do… from their very humble beginnings, and to their uttermost evolvement up to this very day, where they are now…
this post of mine, truly is a concern for the real, and genuine Samsung fans and the company itself; and with utmost certainty, not criticism...

AnonD-438153, 04 Aug 2016there is no difference in note 5 or s7 edge other than s7,e... moreNo difference to the Note 5?
1. Edge display is new.
2. Is water distant now.
3. 20% bigger battery
4. Now has an SD card slot.
5. Internal storage raised from 32 to 64 gb.
6. S-Pen is completely redesigned and thus physically different, namely shorter.
7. USB-C connector.
8. Gorilla glass 5 is new.
And there is probably things I've missed. It may not be perfect but it is certainly different to the Note 5 and improves on it.

Go back to your Crapple products which literally use the same chassis 2 years in a row or the Xperia's with their incremental updates making your phone worthless and outdated in less than a year.

AnonD-438153, 04 Aug 2016there is no difference in note 5 or s7 edge other than s7,e... moreprobably the most ignorant comment on here. it's funny how trolls come and go dropping one or two posts and whining their hearts out and then resorting to making other posts under different names or anons spouting the same thing over and over again. at some point it gets rather dull. the quality and intellect of people these days.

there is no difference in note 5 or s7 edge other than s7,even processor ram is same but with lesser battery than s7 edge and that too on bigger screen of note 7.samsung stop fooling people around selling old same technology same design without any innovation at higher price people are not fools.samsung was so busy developing and modding spen of note 5 that they did not change anything from s7 edge other than spen.you are selling same 4 gb ram when other even chinese manufacturers are already on 6gb ram and snapdragon 820 is itself old story.you should have introduced snapdragon 823 instead.i hope nobody will buy your hyped note 7 at higher price when they already have s7 edge which is far better if you compare phone with phone without spen as it woll become cheaper also with relaease of note 7.poor sammy why dont you learn from your mistakes..s7 was no doubt best turn around and you got best sucess yet after failure of note 5 and s6.dont repeat same mistake selling without anything new in new flagship

BREAKING NEWS: There's actually one really amazing and innovative feature that the Note7 has that can really compensate some of the most missed upgrades such as on battery & RAM, one feature that somehow Samsung marketing team has mor0nically not highlighted, heck I believe they didn't even mention it! (I didn't really watch the unpacking).
What is it you ask me? It's the ability to actually choose your preferred screen resolution of the Note7 to operate with! You can downsize it to even a mere 720p! And you can even set to tone down the CPU performance when you want to save even more juice! Imagine how many more hours of life will this feature give to the phone! Well actually according to Samsung you can get only a measly extra of 36 hours from full charge! And this apparently is no hoax! I guess the Note7 really is a worthy upgrade after all.

AnonD-196068, 03 Aug 2016Your missing one thing. Internal UFS memory is considerably... moreI think most readers of this site knows that. Give Samsung some time they'll probably release a 128GB version down the road. And 64GB is just right, not too big, not too little. I've been using a 64GB phone for two years and I haven't even used anywhere close to the maximum amount. Can't wait for Sammy to introduce UFS slot n the S8 and Note 8, otherwise people would just stay with the Note 7 just like some Edge users are refusing to upgrade now.

Anonymous, 03 Aug 2016Oops, sorry. I guess we are talking along different pages. ... moreThat UFS card one-hundred perce-rtainly did not happen on the Note7 though. Need I be sayin', "just sayin'"? Personally, I agree it was a nice wish and way nicer if it did so happen. But sorry Vlad, better luck next wish. Or better yet, I'd say let's move on to set our expectations and wishes on the S8 to have these UFS cards integrated, shall we? I'd love to see it get introduced in the market and quick. Also, I'd like to see it get introduced by Samsung first because its of their own. Doi!
