Now that's a weird definition of "mini". Let alone that it's 5.3", but 170g?WOW indeed mini it is...

GSMarena should write "Mini Version of" M6 and M6 Plus.

smartphone industry should set some standard regarding size now...
5 inch or below = mini
5 ~ 5.5 inch = regular / standard
5.7 ~ 6.4 inch = phablet / note series
6.8 inch or above = tablet.
that's it. why each brand has their own "mini" which actually isn't mini which is so confusing..

RC255, 04 Aug 2016'Mini' is a relative term. It is a miniature (smaller) vers... moreHow about you listen to this guy. Naming a phone mini must have something in reference to which in this maker's case the original Gionee M6. At some point when 6"+ phones have become the mainstream size to the point they call it normal- or regular-sized because some company out of nowhere figured out as if their noggins just finally made sense after all these years and decided to shake the market up by designing a series/lineup of models possessing thin top and bottom bezels or some innovation else ('cause it's literally right in front of them: bezels!), I'm pretty sure we'd begin to see 5.5"-5.8" as minis, lites, and whatnot. No matter how we twist such unfitting naming argument, it is still a company's decision to make. Mi Max Mini was just an imagined example, if one did not get my side pun. Try Zenfone 3 Ultra Mini/Lite and one will perhaps arrive nowhere under 6"

it does not mean that it is 5 inches and up, it is already a phablet and can't be called a mini, some brands has their flagships with big sizes and they have the right to call the smaller version as a mini even if it is bigger than 5 inches, and we all know the smaller ones also has lower specs that's why they call it mini

AnonD-407852, 04 Aug 2016Yday 5.2" was mini phone.. today 5.3"... OMG..Can't argue about that, 'tis the company's discretion to name them however they see fit. At least they do not name them as the much research-needed Asus models. No hate to Asus comes from me, I can certainly get by their confusing model codes but I do see other potential customers struggle and sometimes quit in the middle of their model search. Maybe even some day we'd see a Xiaomi Mi Max Mini at 6.14" from Mi Max's 6.44". The analogy was pretty much inspired from Redmi Pro to the rumored Redmi Pro Mini, that is 5.5" is to 5.2" (a 3-inch diff)

yuri, 03 Aug 20165.3" device with 170g weight is called mini? O_o;'Mini' is a relative term. It is a miniature (smaller) version of the original. So actually, 'Mini' is perfectly fine and people need to stop thinking the moniker means 'very small'. It just means smaller than the original.

This is stupid. Even if it had the same design as the AQUOUS Crystal it would still be too big for pockets.
