App... moreThe biggest problem I see with most previous implementations of 'software' buttons, is it has been for 'cost cutting'
Whilst I have no doubt that their will, ultimately, be a cost cutting recoup for Apple by doing this, their control over hardware and software should engender an ability to use this screen space for viewing use (eg wide aspect ration video file flowing into the 'button zone')
I don't like software buttons as much as physical keys, (also do not have an iPhone in the house), but, I will certainly be interested in how Apple 'Applise' this feature.
Ironically written using 'software' keyboard, so clearly not all bad....

As of iOS 10, 3D touch is considered no longer a gimmick by many.
Apple are happy to implement a technology and then build software for it.
Software, being software, is easily replacable.
If they remove the button, and back the screen with 'all battery' and chipset, done right, this could have a nice weight balance in the hand and be quite durable.
Personally I don't like thinner phones.
I want a well thought out folder, akin to the old nokia communicators, with a durable exterior, and a keyboard/screen interior.
We could have some very nice ones nowadays...
Also I hate camera lens bumps.
The .5mm lens protrusion of the Note 7 is a fail in my eyes.
I would prefer the whole phone be .5mm thicker and use the extra width better (more durable or better battery or better amplifier for headphone output etc)
I have a Note Edge. When I use the samsung wallet/flip cover, the lens is protected and I can put my phone down anywhere,.. without the replaced 'thicker' cover, I am always looking for something soft to rest the phone on as the protruding camera bump takes the weight, and who wants a scratched lens?
Sure the lens doesn't contact the surface,(the lens rim does), but if we are going to have a protrusion, give me a 'slide over' lens protector.

I very rarely visit GSM arena anymore. At the same time, we don't HAVE to visit the comment section! We could just enjoy the articles. I guess it's just morbid curiosity that brings me "down" here!
