Rather than upgrading the display to 1080p from 720p, Xiaomi should have upgraded the camera performance. The current 13 MP shooters on the RedMi phones aren't great.

Guys, guys.... let's don't argue about the screen size.
Xiaomi already has 5", 5.1", 5.5", 5.7", 6.44" at their disposal for us to choose.

People have different hand sizes & different preferences.
Physically, some prioritize screen size while I personally prioritize the phone's width and bezel.
Anyway, I hope the SD625 + FHD combo retains or improves the 104h endurance rating held by Redmi 3.

I guess its just preference, and there is nothing wrong with that.

It uses snapdragon maybe this one will come outside china with global rom. Also it looks like the soc will be comparable to kirin 650. I hope this won't take a year to reach our markets 4kbattery and 14nm should mean super long battery life.

For 5" Redmi 4, i prefer the upgrade being moving up to 720p Amoled rather than 1080 LCD.

Pls avoid hybrid sim slot in upcoming Redmo 4. Two sim slots and memory card slot required.

Majority of the people I know have phones with screens over 5.5". It's your opinion. Keep it to yourself instead of saying things like "normal people". Are you saying that many people aren't normal? If you know that everyone likes your tiny 5" screen then you can talk about everyone, but you don't and obviously not everyone likes 5". With bigger screens I can watch movies, play games without my fingers taking the whole screen. If you used a big screen phone for a month or 2 you wouldn't want to go back.

Pretty perfect. Only problem I have is the battery being a bit big and heavy. I'd prefer a 3500mah battery and making the device lighter and thinner. Especially since the new 14nm snapdragon will use less power.

Redmi 3 was sharing the same pre-taxed price at launch. This is very positive, if you consider the higher resolution, the 3gb ram standard and finally the fresher android edition.
Of course, Chinese shop will sell it for a bit more than 150$ at start but it's OK.
