I have an xperia Z5, and it's also glass sandwiched. Once it fall straight on the road while I was getting into a bus. No damage at all except from the raised edge next to the glass. I'm so happy Z5 has these edges around the glass, they absorb hits.
You were lucky to pick up your phone and see it was as good as new after it fall. Must had been a shock ha? It was for me.. I was like "oh fu.ck! please glass don't be broken"

AnonD-540667, 17 Aug 2016Moto phones bro if you're talking about moto g thats probably because they are dirt cheap...hehe..but yeah..i have never used a screen guard for moto...even when it had those old resisitive touch...my friend never bothered to cover up his screen..my dad has bought a screenguard but its gathering dust in my shelf

and about the glass itself, my dog pulled on my headphones and the s7 edge fell face first on the floor...no probs..i think having gadgetshieldz coating helped..its a soft screenguard unlike temperd glass...it deforms if you scratch with a key or pen..but they are relatively cheap and may have a shock absorbant quality..best part..wet application

Mate you don't need PhD to know that glass is very fragile. Especially this edge thingy is a guarantee of bad day. Don't buy these kind of phones. Edge and 2,5d glass are not durable at all! Get a case if you have phones like this one.
My point is that glass is fragile, you don't need videos like this to know this.

Shameless to damage an expensive phone like this.
It is good to know that the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is so resistant to damage, but one can assume that Samsung has tested this already before bringing this phone out.
So actually it is a waste of money and respect-less to such a piece of impressive technology. Overall: Well done Samsung!

If the screen was fatter it would be much tougher, and it would be nice to separate glass areas on the device. Another piece of glass for the bezels and another for the screen for example. That way, if the phone falls and the impact is on the edge the screen will remain intact.
