its long time nokia has not launched bar[keypad] mobiles with some ammendment n improvements,models like c2-01,6233,asha 300,c3-01,etc, with larger screen[2.8],high megapixel cameras,video calling will definately have s great demand n pull-down n shake the other company mobiles somewhat,if samsung contiues with bar mobiles ,why not nokia..?

Although it is still early for nokia, in spite of expectations to take up or swallow the market, still a lot of people are waiting.
But I think this would be their second fault by adapting to the market demand through android as an operating system.
In fact I was waiting them to come up with their own operating system .
I and I think many others like me , though many others against, am getting bored of android.and a lot of peole are turning to apple only because of that.
On the other side the name android now is more or less connected to " samsung" rather than " google" whenever you say android the first mobile that comes to the mind is samsung with its routinous design with the 3 buttons whether they were physical or toutch ones.
Now when I was thinking of nokia I was thinking about it as a saviour from the two giants in the market iphone and samsung. But now I see that they announce their going on with the market rather than opposing it , the thing that I hoped to happen.
What was wrong with windows phone? For me the tiles and most importantly the appstore.
Now with android they are going to the same circle. It seems that they are not thinking big as we ,consumers, think of them.
I hoop the best for nokia. But I'm a little pessimistic .

AnonD-514461, 28 Aug 2016But,here is my case it's completely opposite I'm still usin... morei still use N73 ME as my back up phone :) .. replaced the battery and it still works as good as new ... although i must admit the camera mechanism of that phone is pathetic .. they should have given the option to open the camera app without using slider as well ..

My Nokia N73 died in 4 years (yoistick...) and my Samsung Note going on still after 6 years without any wisible damaga...lol

For me,certain brand is still important if it can provide the same quality,after sales and durability..
Regarding other brands,Huawei is really good but if you tell me Xiaomi,Acer etc are good brands in terms of durability then i can't believe that..And In my country the after sales services of these brands is absolutely bullshit..In MiUI forum there are so many complaints regrading phones after sales,in fact in many cities they didn't even have a service centre while Samsung,LG,Apple having more than 5 service centres....Until these brands can improve after sales i'm still not interested in these brands..I'm not gonna waste my hard earned money in a brand who can't provide decent after sales..

Now,regarding Sony,Samsung ..Samsung is different brand they manufacture almost everything memory card to Processor..But,Sony really!!..their own devices provide less quality in terms of imaging than their partners(Apple,Samsung).so,you see it's not necessary whether you produce something or not but it's always necessary tthe technology you're providing is improving quality of End-User Experience..
If you've used Any SONY DSLR with an Carl Zeiss optics,then only you can see the difference between an Carl ZEiss's quality in front of typical Sony'(I'm not hitting Sony)..
Bigger megapixel is really not an issue,but the quality is..You see a Sony 23mp can never beat Samsung 12mp dual-pixel..But,strangely most of the Carl-Zeiss based devices ultimately provided greatest camera experiences on phones..and that's not only my view you can ask any techie people out there,they'll still say Nokia's camera technology with Carl Zeiss,OIS is still far better than so many brands..

Oh, come on. At 2000-2009, when u asked people about a brand of phone maker they know, 8 out of 10 will obviously said NOKIA, even in my country, Indonesia. BUT, that's because of their long-standing history in Indonesia, then 2ndly, because of their well-known 'durable' phone (although in reality, the ONLY durable Nokia phone is the OLD, thick, monochrome display Nokia; from my OWN experiences since I own several Nokia phones, from the monochrome ones, S30, S40, Symbian S60 v1, Symbian S60 v3, and Asha, and ONLY the monochrome ones still in VERY GOOD condition, while others suffer from various troubles; battery leak, screen, keypad, no signal, no speakerphone, no camera, phone always restart, etc).
Because of this experience, I can say it certainly that BRAND POWER IS BULLSHIT when talking about QUALITY AND DURABILITY of a mobile phone. After my last Nokia phone, Asha 200, I NEVER use any phone with 'BRAND POWER' added, instead choosing to buy Huawei, ZTE, Alcatel, Acer, and Xiaomi that is known to be 'underdog' & 'less known' by people in Indonesia.

Do u know why Nokia using Carl Zeiss lens, instead of making their own? Because Nokia IS NOT specialize in this area. SO, instead of trying to waste their money in R&D for camera lens alone and making a half-ass lens in the end, it's more logical & cheap to use the already well-known big brand, such as Carl Zeiss or Schneider Kreuznach when they make a 'camera phone'.
In other hand, look at Samsung and Sony. They are using THEIR OWN lens & sensors, when making a 'camera phone', therefore my statement before.
BTW, a BIGGER PIXEL camera in a phone is identical to the sum of the CORE CPU in Android phone in terms of USELESSNESS. See, the point is, Nokia is trying to get public attention to their phone, especially photography lovers, by introducing 41MP camera.
This 'trick' of 'BIGGER PIXEL = BETTER CAMERA' then being denied by HTC with their 4MP ULTRA PIXEL camera, which is as good as (if not better) as 13MP camera phone.
So, in the end, Nokia achievement is actually ONLY when they introduced OIS in camera phone.

And regarding what a brand can do,alone Nokia's brand name was responsible for Microsoft's market share in between 2013-15,otherwise you can see Microsoft share now at 1% :D
A Good Nokia phone with again revolutionary camera and build and battery can still beat so many companies out there..

It's because of their BUILD QUALITY. I still remember that when Nokia made their first phone, when it it was MADE IN FINDLAND, their phones is so sturdy and the spareparts are easy to get, Then moving to Symbian, very small products are made in Findland anymore, instead MADE IN HUNGARIA, MADE IN CHINA, etc. Do everyone knows the main reason for this move? Yes, when Nokia is became a well-known brand, they started expanding their manufacturing factories all over the world, the reason is, obviously to make the production costs as low as possible, and get as many profits as posssible. Moreover, in doing this. Nokia builds their factories mostly in developing countries OR low-salary labors countries which is geographiclly strategic.
The thing is, when they start expanding manufacturing factories, they hired local people to do the job and their own people doing ONLY the QC, and some formalities like that. Since this time, their build quality is slowly, but surely gone down, proven by how many people get their Symbian phone getting serviced in Nokia Care in my country.
Now, Nokia LOST their hardware division thanks to their MORONIC attempts to fend off Android by joining hands with MS and started using WP, instead of improving their Symbian OS. Because of that, now they are 'joining hands' with Foxconn to build their ALL-NEW Android OS.
OH, come on man, u [still] believed that ur acclaimed 'brand power' is as strong as it is before, even though the old u that owns ur own manufactoring companies cannot 'maintain' ur OLD MADE in FINDLAND quality? and now u asked OTHERS to make it to u and u just do ur usual QC and stuff?
FYI, Nokia is NOT known to be a CAMERA specialist phone maker, or MUSIC specialists phone maker. Nokia is ALWAYS known as Symbian OS specialist, since no other vendors (Samsung, SE, Siemens, etc) can get their Symbian OS as good & versatile as Nokia. Nokia 808 & 1020 Lumia are their "Camera series", while 'XM' is "Music Series", 'Nokia E-series' are "business series" and 'Nokia N series are "Multimedia series".
The only phone makers that Focused their business in CAMERA and MUSIC that I know is Sony Ericcsson,
LOL, u said Nokia 1020 have FLAGSHIP hardware? LOOK HARD DUDE, ITS HARDWARE (other than camera) is one of the most disappointed one in Nokia history, after N73.
All in all, if Nokia thinks that they can steal Samsung's sovereignity over Andoid world, while they still have the same MORONIC brain as before, then they are WRONG.
'Brand power' is SOMETHING that u build years, and have limited area and time.
E.g. Nokia is known for its durability phone, ever since Nokia 3310. If they try to make SOMETHING different (e.g. notebook), people are going to have this question in their mind 'Nokia is a good brand when talking of durable phones, but do their netbook good or durable enough when compared to (Lenovo) IBM?"
"Nokia is a good brand when talking about Symbian phones, but can their Android phones holds their candle when compared to Google Nexus or Samsung?"
"Nokia is a good brand when they still have a BIG NAME, now that their manufacturing division bought by MS, and they are [almost] bankrupt, can their name still be trusted?"
The last, the ONLY way for Nokia to get their way up again is to THROW AWAY all their 'pride', 'selfish', and 'brand power', and START from the VERY scratch to rebuild again their "brand", like Samsung does when Android first comes out public.
