HTC Gratia is like a deja vu, it's the Euro alter ego of the HTC Aria

18 October, 2010
The HTC Aria broke free from its initial AT&T-only status and now it even changed its name to avoid detection. It's now called the HTC Gratia and has been spotted in a European cafe munching on some Froyo...

Anonymous, 20 Oct 2010Why didn't HTC make the front panel (surrounding the screen... moreyeh i agree it would be nice if you look at the enlarged pictres they have made the button to match the back cover but they should encorporate the color elsewere also like the buttons on the screen should match the case colour that would be nice also

I am rather partial to the White one though that one looks realy nice

Why didn't HTC make the front panel (surrounding the screen) white and green respectively ?? Now, that would've been pretty cool

It seems to be a "new" Wildfire. It looks nice, seems to be cheap and great for those who don't want to spend more than 300-350euro for an android smarthphone.

Diegone, 19 Oct 2010Guys, It's a bit stupid to attack every single mobiel phon... moreyeh i agree with you full i have the HTC HD Mini and it is nearly identical handset and it only has the 600Mhz CPU what every body has been saying about.
The THC HD Mini has the Windows mobile 6.5.3 on it and it rely dose multi task because it has got a task manager on it and you can switch between the diffrent programs you are running not a problem at all it dose it easy without a problem so i do not see why people are shouting about a 1Ghz phone because it is not needed 600Mhz works nice and it CAN handle multitasking!!!!!!!!!!!

            Guys,
It's a bit stupid to attack every single mobiel phone that has a CPU not TOP of the class. There are lots of people that would enjoy a smartphone but don't want to spend too much that's why this one could be interesting and you cannot compare it to the 1GHZ ones.
Obviously is should be much cheaper (around wildfire prices?).

Lol lowering the res makes it enough for that cpu... and actually if you think about it... Android are power & cpu hungry therefore they will do what a the N8 will do with only 680Mhz since symbian is more eficient in terms of power & cpu hunger..

if there is no multitasking these days, i can say the phone is almost useless. the most important of all is multitasking in present, besides of all the high end hardware compatibility

Gratia definitely has an appeal. Froyo powered in a small scale body.

For all those bitching about the power not being enough to handle anything, I have the HTC LIberty variant and its brilliant and handles everything I throw at it!

All of you who rag this phone for having "only" a 600Mhz processor, you have definitely not tried the HTC Aria or Legend. Both of these phones rock with that processor. True they are not Snapdragons, but they are dam close in the real world. I am the owner of an Aria and I must say this phone really flies and I am running 2.2 (unofficial of course). I think it is great that HTC releases cheaper phone for people that can't or wont spend $500-$800 for a phone(without contrat of course). So before you knock it, try it.

maria, 18 Oct 2010You are wrong we talking about multitasking so its not enou... moreAndroid dosent REALLY multitask; not in the strictest term of the word. It pretends to, and does for music and background data runnning apps, but usually when you exit and app, its CLOSED. The list you get when you hold down the home key is RECENTLY USED apps, not CURRENTLY RUNNING apps.

You are probably one of those people who think a 1Ghz Snapdragon CPU from the HTC HD2 is better than a new OMAP with 800Mhz or 8MP is strictly better than 5MP regarding Picture-quality. Haha wow this site is always good for a laugh.

Utter codswallop. Any android phone can multitask with a 528mhz and above, especially with smaller screens. Just means you need a task manager *that every android phone needs realistically* to close once finished all tasks.

                                    600MHz??!

For an Android phone, that is weak.

                                    How about the future updates?
I don't think it will be able to handle future releases of Android OS.

Funny thing is that processor is weaker than the N8's lol.
