Even if the Neo does have 4K support, games will still be upscaled from 1080p to 2160p...

I'll have to connect the HDMI to... moreMost modern home theatre comes with always on HDMI pass through, means you can connect PS4 with it and then to the TV, If the theatre is on it will handle the Audio and pass the audio and video to the TV ( you might need to turn off TV's audio ), if it's off then it will pass the full HDMI signal to the TV...
If you don't have this feature in the home theatre, then there's a small HDMI-SPDIF adapter.. cost less than $20, and lets you have both Optical and Coaxial SPDIF audio out while passing the HDMI to your TV

I think the usb ports design is just made to be incompatible with some unofficial accessories that use the two usb.

Without optical port? WTH? I'll have to connect the HDMI to the TV and then the optical cable to the TV and then on the HT, what a mess!

I think there won't be any "Neo" variant, only a Slim PS4 with all (or some) of the features inside: 4K, HDR and/or bigger storage (maybe up to 2TB like the One S). That's my 2 cents.
