My eyes are on Samsung bringing up Tab S3 with Note 7 S-Pen and Exynos 7420, if not 8890. Even though I've already bought an iPad Pro, I wanna see the attempt of Samsung. (TabPro S not counted cuz idk the power of its pen)

Sony ui is more closer to stock.. and is more optimised... huawei is also good. Sony would have little edge over huawei if both used same chipset... still not very much difference. A hair edge goes to sony...

huawei ram optimizations are top notch... only little optimizations(compare to huawei) will not give that much edge to xperia x to top p9. Sony is not good when it comes to battery life. There last good flagship was z3 (battery wise specially).

Once it comes out, it will most likely be the fastest android phone in the market until the galaxy s8 comes out early next year. So the mate 9 will bask in the limelight for a good few months.

Yes. True. My Moto X (2013)(and yes I still use it. It is still my daily driver) is faster than most phones that have come out after it with upto 2 GB of RAM except for some like Nexus 5 and SGS5. Definitely faster than Xiaomis and Vivos and Oppos and also easy to carry, fluid, fast, snappy, does the job, doesnt lag!!! Even with like 10 tabs open in chrome!!

AnonD-532704, 28 Aug 2016Mate 8 is not only powerful. But it is a very beautiful and... moreJewel? Yes it's durable, but not a real classy device. Xperia Z5 Premium looks better than the Mate 8 from my point of view, but that's a matter of preferences. Bezels aren't a huge issue to me, but I don't know why it's a big deal to everyone.

Z5 will never beat the Mate 8? Sony optimized the software of the Z5 on Marshmallow which gives even faster performance than it has on Lollipop, giving better speed than the Mate 8.

AnonD-532704, 28 Aug 20161) don't agree.. sorry.. your link says otherwise. Zenfone ... moreOkay, so let's forget about the ZenFone 3. But Huawei isn't the fastest Android phone now. No matter how many cores an Android phone has, even if you put 10 billion cores inside an Android, if it's not optimized well, it's pointless. That's why Sony is focusing more on improving the software rather than using overkill CPUs. Sadly, Huawei can't do that. Huawei only focuses on producing more powerful SoCs but remain the same poorly optimized software. So as Samsung. TouchWiz still seemed to be laggy even on the flagships like the Note 7

AnonD-442781, 28 Aug 2016Look. Why are you saying performance mode is bad? And why d... moreI'm not just basing this on clock speed. But that's the damn main thing here. Performance Mode only increases benchmark scores, but not real life performance. If it does, difference is smaller than hair. And I didn't say Xperia X will run better on Battery Saving Mode. You did go far from the topic. Huawei P9 is set to normal mode because Performance Mode will drain more juice because of overclocking

You seem to have based your argument on performance mode increasing clock speeds. But what if I said that performance mode was the default, and not using it is decreasing clock speeds? Does your argument still hold? No, of course not. Because that would be the same as saying all phones would be better if you just left them on battery saving mode all the time. That Sony would perform better in that silly speed test (which it was already slower in) if it done the test with battery saving mode on. Do you understand?

It's like a jewel (yes sony phones also look good, but those bezels).. look at the endurance 103 hours.. which flagship lasts that much?? Camera is not very top notch but still Ok. Not bad either... z5 can never beat mate8. Mate 8 is class apart in rew power..

I repeat I m nt claiming that it's stronger than exynos 8890 or sd820 phones.. as mate 9 will compete them.. and most probably will crush them.

                          2. No the Mate 8 isn't the fastest phone when it was released, but it is the iPhone 6s, and is still the iPhone 6s that is the fastest phone in the world.
                          3. They better do, 'cause it would be a huge disappointment if they make the Mate 9 slower than the P9 and Mate 8

                            2. I didn't say that Performance Mode will reduce the performance of the phone, but it basically don't seem to benefit that much to the real performance of the phone. It only overclocks the CPU which increases the possibility of heating up, and finally loosing its performance (as temperature rises up, performance decreases. That's my point that you can't get again and again).
                            3. So you're saying that the P9 is a downgrade of the Mate 8 because it lost the most performance?

Besides, Mate 8 isn't that far away compared to its competitors either. It's only a 0.5-1 second difference between the V10 and the Mate 8. And iPhone still beats the Mate 8 in terms of speed if without animations. What causes the Mate 8 to perform well is because of its low resolution screen, so less graphics is needed. Mate 8 even slowed down after a year of usage which is proved by the Xperia Z5 Premium being faster now than the Mate 8

And more importantly, why do you think performance mode makes it slower? Are you saying that if Sony underclocked their CPU it would have better battery life and become faster? Of course it won't, there is a trade off. You don't seem to have any evidence comparing performance mode to standard mode to say its somehow worse. And the p9 in performance mode still has better battery life than Sony.

                                  Look at this video

                                  https://youtube.com/watch?v=XMxn6Q8DT-g

The mate 8 had the lowest reduction in performance. But got hotter. The p9 had the lowest increase in heat, but lost the most performance.

There comes the Xperia X, Asus ZenFone 3, and OnePlus 3, and all of them are faster than the Mate 8. Well, Huawei also introduced the Kirin 955, a successor of the 950, but the difference is just a hair compared to last year. And fyi, Mate 8 only crushed the Note 5. Mate 8 didn't beat something like the V10. And yes, Performance Mode ONLY overclocks the CPU, as well as increase the risk of thermal throttling, reducing the capabilities of the hardware
