Personally i would prefer they use the original Moto X (2013) as reference. The X and G are very similar, but the X had a textured hard polycarbonate that's amazing to the touch and very grippy. The G's polycarbonate was also hard, but not textured and thus not as sexy.

Regardless, i am glad to see the awesome ergonomics of the X once again, though i really wish it was a high-midranger instead of a low-midranger the MT SoC implies.

teaspade, 30 Aug 2016Why mtk??? Why not qualcomn?? Who'll buy their Moto G, Moto Z and Moto E series? Its better that they have given an option for Mediatek users. Majority of people dont even care about the processor.

First time I have seen 1080p on a "4.6 display with fingerprint scanner to boot.

Rear mounted fingerprint scanner is not really comfortable, the best position is the front (if home button is physical) or else integrated in the side power button (as Sony does). This way, you dont need to pick up your phone in order to unlock it.

So it's still only Sony putting competitive specs into a smaller package - Moto are sticking with the old saw that if you don't want a big phone you should be happy with weak specs.

Great to see old design back.
But Snapdragon chipset shall be a better choice than mediatek.

Mediatek is better at low end processors.

I always thought that the M Logo at the back would be the perfect place to place the fingerprint scanner, Idk why Moto (Lenovo) chose to put the fingerprint scanner in the front
