Interesting fact, I and a mate tried a 2009 Walkman (nwz-x1050) and 2013 Walkman (nwz-f886) with 3 phones and 4 earphones with the same song and bitrate even compared same song with different bitrate
The 2009 Walkman with 192 kp per second sound better on Walkman than any of the phones z2, g2, s6, in fact so much better

What if I told you that people defend a CD edge cutter machine (around 10K dollars) like their own family, calling all kinds of feel arguments that it DOES help to improve the quality of CDs, by literally scrapping part of the discs edge out. No, I'm not kidding: http://www.noiseaddicts.com/2008/10/audiophile-stupidity-cd-lathe-improves-sound-quality/
Read the comments, you'll have a nice laugh. "Close minded" and "Just because you can't hear" are hotkeys on the blind believer's keyboards.
This, 384 kHz sample rates, and on the original product's site you can see one of the most amusing ones: the player has an upscaling feature on it, that - you're not reading wrong - "improves the quality of the original file, bringing back what was lost on recording".
Fo real, it's on Sony's site. I'll give it to them that they nailed at making an audiofool oops audiophile marketing perfectly.
The player is great, no questions asked. The gibberish said there tho is otherworldly.

yes, because gold plating device will minimize magnetic interference...
JESUS F CHRIST.... Who the heII got that idea and give it to Sony???
Its like saying that painting glass using transparent coating will make you more prettier...
I seriously cant believe that someone could beat Apple in technological gibberish that they provide when showing new device...

so much "because yes" on this device... Well, gold lovers rejoice. What impresses me is the comparably huge speakers of the headphones, demn 70mm, mine have ~50mm ones and they have a sonic stage like you were inside the source/room where the sound is produced, can barely imagine what 70mm drivers do there. That's bigger than some desk speakers in fact.
Some factual info tho (I bet the mistakes were only for the trolling purpose tho): no idea why the chassis needs to have better contact resistance, no, gold doesn't conduct better than copper, in fact worse, it's used only to prevent oxidization on the contacts, not better contact resistance, Super Audio CD actually does sound worse than normal CD on the upper frequency range, it only sounds better at the lower end ~4 kHz, the pulse density modulation scheme is to blame here, making it 4x the sample rate is just wasting space while you could go PCM 96 kHz and have actually better quality on the full spectrum, and all the 384kHz 32 bit is bull
