At least the Z3 wasn't an explosive. The glue popping out thing of the Z3C was an isolated case. Not to mention Z3 remains the most well received phone by Sony, and was as good as or better than the other flagships of 2014.

They never tried anything else, they never knew about nothing before the smartphone "era" and their first smartphone was probably a samesung. So now, they leave in the cage of it and think nothing can match it, how could it? Is not like their beloved device (full of errors) is not the best, or? Apple fans aren't that far either, for me, in fact they are the same, different companies same stupidity. Anyway, this is good buissines for both of them, so i can't judfe them for making a pork sharade out of trchnology and it's market. Where i am from, people have a saying: Before, theaters were full with people that had a knowledge about, and lust to see the acting. Now they are full with ignorants waiting to see some nude, but looking at the acts like the calf at the new door. This picture looks a lot like our technology market this days. Before, we had what we wanted. Now, all sorts of ignorantas have something they don't understand but want to have cause is trandy and hey, look, you can play games, tinder and facebook, unbelieveble!

Samsung reacted just like how any other manufacturer would. Nothing exceptional.

Anonymous, 03 Sep 2016You don't recall bc others companies just let it pass, but... moreNo company will ever let this type of problem pass. This has law suit written all over it;). Yeah, samesung is so good they actually tought about them selves and how bad can get if more devices explode, especially in one's pocket; or ear;). Don't recall them pulling s3's back when a lot of people complained about the build quality and deffective screens, a wide spread problem were those screens. I also don't recall them pulling this same s3's back when two of them exploaded. They were called isolated cases;). No one really knows how many others had the same fate. So please tell me, what saesung does, and others don't? It is quite sad when i see blind people, but is even sadder when i see people with healthy eyes that are blinded by their own believes...

Build in wireless first time in smartphones (and probably in mobile computing all around) was made by Nokia a long time ago. With the launch of the 920. Not shamesung. The so called pfablet form factor is dated, and could be found on devices as old as from 1993. Ever heard of pocket pc's? Giess not, someone who thinks that Samesung actually inovated something, has to be born in the 2000's. Camera aperture? This is like saying. Hey look we copied Nokia, for the 1200000 time and we tough about building better cameras, now we have a 0.1 bigger aperture in our smartphones.... Yeah, right. Let us go to the last thing you said, ah, sorry, their is nothing you really said. But let me put you streight. Ever heard of the lumia 950? Guess, what! it has iris scanner that your beloved shamesung already copied. The new invention, the cracklaxy s7 note, or whatever is called, probably one of the new "Bombs". This guys and apple diserve eachother. They steal ideas, pretend is theirs, then sue eachother for what others have done long time ago. Well, at least i can sit back and watch the pork sharade of technology. And make my own "Telenovelas" out of it. It is fun, i tell you;).

If your phone catches fire, stop using it immediately. No phone call is worth it. I wouldn't even use a phone that is on fire to call 911. That's my advice.

So no, they can't "just let it pass". If there is an issue with the phone, the manufacturer should and will recall it. Doesnt matter which brand.

Anonymous, 03 Sep 2016You don't recall bc others companies just let it pass, but... moreI just wanted to comment on "in house" thing.
nowadays, it is not an advantage or disadvantage to be (in house) or "contract manufacturing". All/Most giant firms are making their products in china.
before I had nokia made is Germany, Hungary and china that long lived and better than the one made in Finland. I do not compare the countries, but I am saying not necessaily all contract manufactured electronics are basically bad .
and guess what? I have galaxy S6 MADE IN INDIA, and galaxy S7 MADE IN VIETNAM. ((In-House))
so, please do not speak the "in-house thing" as an advantage over the other.
with all respects to Samsung , Apple, Sony, LG, HTC, Huawei, Moto.......etc

The best screen technology available right now.
