Save money on research by launching few phones a year 5-6 would be sweet spot. And price it like Motorola. You will be great again.

HTC doing well & staying alive in the smartphone industry is surely beneficial to the consumer.People r slowly but surely appreciating quality over cheap models loaded with high end specs but mediocre performance.

Its reducing year on year i know but still this financial year, Sony's mobile division has made a little profit which will keep them up for now. Even when they were operating at loss last two years, still they poured their money from other businesses to mobile division. For Sony, its not really a hurdle if mobile division does not perform but for htc, it is a big deal and the only deal they have in hand for earning purposes.

Love HTC, but i opted for the oculus CV1 instead of the Vive, couldn't justify another 200 quid for handsticks, plus the set up requires more room.

Oculus is getting more support too by the looks of things too.

Amazing device though, glad to see HTC doing well.

Samsung has lost the plot as well as apple, HTC might just sneak in with a few more great phones, got the 10 and it's superb.

I think that they are selling only HTC 10, all other SD400 based devices are just there that they can say that they have more to offer, but no one in whole world have bought one of those devices.

Sony is much bigger company where they do not have to rely on mobile division
as they are making money from movie / music / electronics and more while HTC got pretty much nothing but mobile

Nowadays the strategy of every company to make profit is release overpriced products and improve their ASP, the selling price of flagships in last 2-3 years has gone from $600 to $800 with little to no innovation
Customers will buy one of the brands anyway.

But if SONY shuts down mobile, still Sony will not end.

But for HTC, mobile is prime business. Cannot afford losses continuously. It may threaten their existence.

If the smartphone division becomes unprofitable then it would be cancelled, it doesn't matter what the rest of the business is doing. Sony mobile is down 33% in Year on Year revenue while HTC is only down 4.5%.
