I'm still wondering why the other companies don't get it (of course apple makes no mid range and low end because of their reputation, but for example Samsung is already known as "cheap" same for LG)

Htc should fix and simplyfi their line up of devices, they dont need to make 100 diffrent devices and fall down. All they need is: a true flagship, a true compact/mini, a max device for media consumers and a FEW mid-range and low end devices. Like 5-6 phones max. Ofc fix the god damn prices. You cant make people pay premium for so many issues like the htc 10 is.

HTC is forgetting about some niches. We all know that there are people willing to buy bigger and compact flagship devices. HTC has none. I'd like to buy a 5.5-5.7" smartphone with HTC 10 design and specs. Some people might want a 4.5-4.7" screen. HTC doesn't deliver. LG has V series, Samsung has Note series (yea, I know the 7 is a failure, but older Notes are still good), even Chinese manufacturers remember to have all screen sizes in their portfolio. HTC can't, Sony does the same thing...

I am only sharing my observations and I do not represent any company or brand.

SONY has much diversified business compared to HTC. mobile is not the only income source for them. Plus sony earns more profit per handset than anyone else. Even if mobile division is shut down, SONY has other business to do.

But that is not case with HTC.if they continue same strategy, soon they will be out of business.

the lack of vision on offering competitive mid range phones will affordable pricing is the reason htc will never be successfull...them making next year nexus/pixel devices will cause even more problem since its already rumor to be more expensive than last ear nexus devices

HTC tried playing Apple and SONY way of business- high price tag for their products compared to competition.

Apple releases only 2 handsets a year. Plus its OS is closed with no other players.user experience is sheer pleasure.

SONY is tech giant with an established reputation in market. Mobile is not the only income source for them. Plus they have unique design and features ( like ip ratings) to their products.

With above points they can afford to put high price for their products.

HTC is good brand, but not as above two. Plus it flooded the market with numerous android phones a year. Android is an open source software and has many players who offer better options at tag HTC demands.
Sane price tag and few focused handsets will help them to revive.

Wow, HTC doing well but not good enough.
Their diversification makes me think HTC will sink again.
VR is awesome but it is not "mainstream" enough.
