Its a lie that high gloss is the first time for apple,
my iphone 3g was jet black plastic high gloss that scratched easily. this look is not new at all,
If you want to know what this high gloss look like after months/ year of normal use without case, just look for your old iphone 3g/ 3gs. or google old used iphone 3g black

If I am willing to get a black onyx Note7 which smudges and scratches easily with Gorilla Glass 5, a jet black iPhone 7 wouldn't be so bad. I was 99% sure of going with matte black BUT then I remember the slate iPhone 5 Scruffgate. The color underneath was different when it got scratched up. The iPhone 3G/3Gs had the same black color underneath.
This is a glossy layer on top of aluminum. I read the the jet black is grippier too. I guess the fingerprints and our oily hands keeps it stickier to hold. And if you get jet black, at least people will know you have the 7 instead of 6/6s and you have a 128gb or 256gb. Not the cheap 32gb one. I also hated the antenna lines on the 6 series and jet black hides it the best with matte black 2nd although you still see it a little.
If you aren't OCD or own multiple phones, the jet black wouldn't be so nad. The Darth Vader, 256gb iPhone 7 is calling for me. Don't underestimate the power of the dark side!

if your gonna buy iphone think first. is it worth it? do you really need it? or you just want to brag about it that's why you want to buy it? there's a big difference between you want it because you need it and you want it coz its new.
btw, got iphone7+ already.. hahahaha!

Why put Shiny Jet Black iPhone in a case? People usually buy these items for their appearance. Build premium one instead Apple. learn from Samsung and respect customers.

ok a couple of things have to be said in here
1: it's not that scratches easily (it's as hard as the rest) it will just show the scratches more due to the shine, meaning it will eventually show them but take good care and u don't need a case or anything (hard to see nowadays but still...)
2: those comments about no one caring about samsung easily scratched, come on, everyone (even iphone fans) talked about it, then the issue was settle it's still a matter of choice
3: that jet black looks cool (gotta admit)
the humble opinion of a samsung sort of fan :D

To be fair most people I see using iPhones have massive cracks all over the screen so a few scratches on the back shouldn't bother them.

I, on the other hand, expect good quality, that's why a $800 device should not be put into a $5 case, it should be good enough to not need one.
