This is good for those x10 xperia and other se android users. BUT... I don't like the I love being updated logo by SE. SE releases firmware updates like once year, am I right? So they shouldn't brag about this. It's their job.

i told many times, that SONY and SONY ERICSSON they make good things, but customer support and overcare about everything(included Laptops,TV and etc.)is absolutely crap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!it's from my personal experience.i trusted sony, but looks like they getting worse and worse every year.and if to be honest Samsung galaxy s or some HTC models are much nicer and better than Sony Ericsson even if i'm SE user, but i'm telling this anyway.and in the future i'm not gonna buy anymoore Sony or Sony Ericsson products!!!there are a big choise of other good brands and good quality makers who cares about customers ,not only want to sell and after selling things don't give a shit like SE does!!!

Anonymous, 30 Oct 2010They're updating something dated. I feel dated with my galaxy sat least we're getting "updated" from 1.6 to 2.1 while you guys got 2.2 snatched away from you in a week after your precious "update" & slapped 2.1 on your face again! our updates could be slow but at least we don't experience what you guys did!
don't whine about other phones here when it's a forum regarding Xperia X10, as you can read from the title.
go to your beloved Galaxy S forum & whine about it there, not here, kid!

              Day late and dollar short.

If SE doesn't pick up the upgrade cycle, they'll lose out to the likes of Samsung, HTC and Motorola.

I'm actually impressed with its new UI especially about that social phonebook which I wanted badly a long time ago.

Although the term 'perfection' is questionable regarding the contents of the update. A lot of people are complaining about the things that aren't actually in the phone and probably would never be.

I personally did expect a late September release and was quite disappointed with the extra month delay. Just wish they gave us a reason for taking so long other than "we still need more time".

Honestly the Android 1.6 has been really good since their last update to fix most of the bugs. I'm really eager to see 2.1 on my phone. Even if 2.2 isn't coming to the X10 there's rumors that Gingerbread will come to the next Xperia line the rumored X12 =)

hogo oss, 30 Oct 2010so i just marveling why it took so much time to make just '... moreMy friend!if you think its that simple you could've be running Microsoft now!there is a lot of hardware and software optimisation. Android is not hardware generic and so do phones hardware differ from one to one. Its the same reason why different PC motherboard and graphics card have their own driver for different products and different OS's.

I don't like some of you complain when the stuff they have bought out is rock solid - which you don't give credit to it. If they just release a rush update thats so buggy - which you will complain to no end. Why can't you see the situation as a whole and not compare to others with different circumstances. It's like you are complaining why is a Honda Accord 2.0L as slow to a BMW 320 since they both are about the same size for the same market but have different output, and you will say OH!PERHAPS YOU JAPANESE BOFFINS SHOULD'VE WORK QUICKER THAT "WILL" INCREASE THE OUTPUT!

Anonymous, 30 Oct 2010i read somewhere that se will release android 2.2 on x10 jan 2011Don't bother to wonder whether the news you read was right, SE official had clearly stated that they are still not sure about the froyo update. So don't even think they will give certain date when froyo will be available for X10.

Finally, the update that I've been waiting for years..... XD
I really can't wait to experience that continuous focus HD video recording!

hogo oss, 30 Oct 2010so i just marveling why it took so much time to make just '... moreI agree that we're only getting 'half' an update if you look at it via Android perspective. Seems to be missing things that other Android 2.1 handsets offer e.g 65m colours, MT, saving apps to SD card, etc.
But as SE sees it the phone itself and it's UI is all about the UXP (User Experience) rather than the 'Android' experience.

Why do peopl... moreso i just marveling why it took so much time to make just ''half update'' and screen won't display more then 65k and so on.they put in just usual 2.1 with hd video that's all.i don't count things like timescape because it's like ordinary free t/p apps
