I really like the Note 7 when it was introduced, I think it is the most beautiful phone ever made by Samsung. But after the batterygate, I'm afraid to have one. The solution is don't buy the Note 7. Better be safe than sorry.

Any batteries can rupture, depends on several factors... Overheat, overcharging ('stupid' cheap chargers that don't auto cut-off power, punctured, short circuit of both points, moisture contact and many more...
Amazing thing is clone phones take a lot longer to blow up, if any would...

AnonD-442781, 09 Sep 2016They had to use glass instead of plastic because that's wha... morewell i have A5 2016 now and even though glass looks better than plastic, it feels kinda weird (a little slippery but not exactly the word i'm looking for) it's nothing i can't compromise though but it has its pros and cons
now about the post, i think is good the measures that samsung is taking even though it doesn't take away the fault itself... hope the strike is not that bad for them to handle (pretty sure it isn't) and we must learn from mistakes

Well, they brought this sh** to themselves. Consider this as punishment from "god", for being too greedy. There should be no sealed batteries in smartphones at all.
At least samsung should give users a choice (releasing same top model in 2 variations: 1 for mainstream ppl, who dont care about much more than design and 2 - for power users, who use epic extended batteries (8000-1000mAh) from 3rd parties like Zerolemon, Mugen, Kranich, etc, where removable battery is *must have*. And dont tell there is no such users. There is. A lot.

AnonD-578105, 09 Sep 2016So people have to return their phones to get a brand new on... moreThey had to use glass instead of plastic because that's what the market wanted. People voted with their wallet on this when the s6 sold well and the s5 didn't, so no use whining about it now. I'd rather have plastic too, since I use a case anyway, but apparently I'm in the minority.
They could do what the lg v20 is doing, but that would mean no glass (worse appearance), no ip 68, and no wireless charging. Since appearance, wireless charging, and ip68 are widely advertised, there's no way this is gonna happen.
But you could always just get the v20 if that's what you want. “Be Together. Not the Same.” :P
