Finally, wait is over!!!!
Nougat has arrived for sprout at last, stable build being resurrection remix (official, in nightlies).
Everything works perfect on the ROM, data ,ril, video recording, camera, EVERYTHING.

Its so pathetic for me right now, I'm using an official google phone and forget nougat, I'm not even getting to use Google Assistant.
Is everyone else able to use their assistant on their android one phone?

Its pathetic that people are still expecting 'official ' nougat for android one. If Google HAD to upgrade us, it would have done. The problem being the mediatek processor.
As for custom ROMs, I AM USING NOUGAT ON MICROMAX CANVAS A1, but camera and hw acceleration does not work. Yes, its coming, the unofficial way, as there are builds coming every now and then. Interested people may search the XDA thread regarding this.
Before nougat, there are some ROMs that are surely worth try(all marshmallow)
1.CM13
2.resurrection remix
3.MIUI 8
4.ANDROID Nify module from its site(xposed)
Expect a stable custom ROM within 1-2 months at the most.

They stop providing device driver after almost a year. So no one, Google or any one can create a proper working ROM (to be official) for your device. There is an unofficial CM ROM on XDA which is based on nougat. It doesn't support cellular data and video encoding and the rest of the OS is too buggy to hope to run for everyday usage. Where as the second gen Android One devices having Qualcomm Snapdragon have got their nougat update long before and even have an official version of Lineage OS.
