For all those who are hoping Nougat update for Lava Pixel V1, the official twitter handle for Lava Mobiles confirmed that there won't be Nougat 7.0 update for this device.

Google had made it very clear that guaranteed updates are only for 2 years. Android One devices were launched on September 2014, the last security update on my Spice Android One is of September 2016.

Anonymous, 27 Feb 2017Why Before an os update is rolled out to your phone driver support is necessary. If the chipset company doesn't provide driver support, your phone manufacturer cannot update your device. Snapdragon is the best when it comes to driver support and Mediatek on the other hand doesn't even support processors that are just a year old. Morever these mediatek phones wouldn't even run(get signals) in USA or other European countries as they don't support all bands.Snapdragon has a worldwide support for all bands be it 4G or 3G. Choose wisely.
