horses, 13 Sep 2016It just seems foolish to hold on to a phone that has known ... moreThat's just what they're thinking about doing. They may not be able to because of carrier intervention in places like the United States, where some carriers kick up a fuss and don't let you return it as easily as they should. They might only be able to do it in South Korea.

Please stop posting this link. It will make users with defective Note 7 think they are fine and dandy. It will only check Note 7 that are officially sold IN THE CHINA / HONG KONG REGION!
That means if your phone is bad and from outside that region, the tool will say your phone is not in the affected range. This tool exists for the few devices sold in China with SDI manufactured batteries! Not for the whole world! Wait till the 15th or so for more regional IMEI checkers to show up please.

Also, this link has been active and shared all over for at least 5 days now.

I'm going to report my own comment in the hopes whoever reads this will update the article with this information.

its a big loss to samsung with all this recall and all ... but still it shouldn't that worried as it cans till top the android list with competition like LG, HTC, sony and all are failing really bad .. nobody just cares about these brands anymore. and coming to one plus and huawei ... those are still carrying the mid range brand which should not impact samsung .. the only other competitor to worry about is apple as ... iphone 7 and 7 plus will definitely take advantage of note 7 issues .... samsung should come back strong with S8 !!

Samsung just lost 11 billion of their share value on the trading market. This is a huge loss just becoz of one single product battery defect wiping of a huge chunk.

horses, 13 Sep 2016I suppose, but it isn't my job to speculate on Samsung's de... moreso you like phone sellers ? the ones calling you with great pr and still sells you a crap product ? that is nice to know. what is your mail and number ? ill send you a lot of such scammers then.

steve jobs did good pr and sold crap, and its still locked and controlled products they sell. just bc of good pr.

Force Majeure, 13 Sep 2016I'd rather have a little less performance, say like a 625/6... moreand with that, you would just get a 2350 mah battery or something ;)

username8, 13 Sep 2016The coming months will be crucial for Samsung.. They would ... morei don't think they should release the S series too soon, probably will be A5 (2017) or A7 (2017) or something in the line rather than S8 which probably will be realeased next year, it is a step back for samsung but let's see how strong they come back (cuz they probably will)

[deleted post]You are right. I post my comment, then the Samsung's defender report it as soon as possible, looks like they want to keep all news in dark. Forget it, they will never know what is a better charging tech.

I don't think this battery issue will affect Samsung too much. Samsung makes good phones and they will recover from this soon. I have been using Samsung phones since past 6 years and never faced any issues.
