So if yoy charge your phone from 0 to 50% and again from 0 to 50%.
It will be considered as 1 cycle and not two.
And with cap of 60%, if you charge from 0 to 60%, 3 times then it will be close to two charging cycle not full three.
So don't worry about losing charging cycle.

You know whats funny i got into the samsung system package becuase i seen this garbage before my old phones heated up but not like this which cause me to stop all bloat ware and uninstall it including that dang carrier software which is more like malware control to the device i even disable that stupid knoxs security and now i have been using the crap out of my note 7 and has 100 times better battery and stays cool all the time since i did it, not the hard ware its the saturation of control bloatware running in the background process while your trying to use it im the top
How about the suggestion stop trying to control everything and make thimgs simple thats including these communist carrier companies and there preloaded software crap. its like you making incredibly obese man run against a professional athlete sooner or later the fat man going doing with a cardiac arrest

If you feel that reinstalling a few applications onto your phone is too much effort then I would recommend that you never change your phone at all.
I also made no specific reference to the phones thickness. Although my use of the word sleek may have given that impression, I was referring to the over all appearance of the phone. I also doubt that a 3.5mm head phone jack really adds that much to the phones thickness, but that's purely my opinion.
In response to your assertion that the battery is easier to replace than the phone I would be inclined to agree with you but for two points.
1) how are you going to replace the battery when the phone has exploded with the battery inside it?
2)how are you going to use the phone whilst you wait for the new battery to arrive?
In essence I agree that replacing the battery is easier but only if the safe versions are already in circulation otherwise you are still left with no phone until the new battery is distributed to the affected customers. Also bare in mind that it would be cheaper for Samsung, or any company for that matter, to replace the battery than the entire phone so it is rather a bad marketing strategy to opt for an outcome that will cost your business $1 billion approx.

What about all those configurations, downloads akready made to the phone? A replacedphonee means getting a secondhand/refurbished one..dahh!
Furthermore a replaceable battery guarantees that if something happens to the battery for some reason and does not charge or discharges quickly then you change the battery NOT THE PHONE!! This is what thw companies want...
Replaceable batteries do NOT increase thickness of the phone...the headphone plug does!

So the most important is invent a advance charging technology, just like Sony do, Sony is leading and safer because they use Qnovo. But I must say even Samsung use Qnovo I still don't want get it, because my previous Samsung phone broken after 1year only, their quality is very pathetic and doubtful!

Everyone keeps going on about bringing back the removable battery. Whilst this was fine for the older generations of phones, in order for most current devices to maintain their sleek appearance and power most companies (not just Samsung) have built the battery into the device. Even if the battery in the Note 7 was removable this would not have prevented the initial explosions though it would have definitely reduced the number. A recall would still have to be done and redistribution of the new batteries too. So you would not be able to use the phone while you wait for the replacement batteries and in the end would still be in exactly the same position as you are in now.

a lot of people talked very loud about the lg issue with g4 ... laughing and even saying any thing in order to make people to purchase Samsung with the famous word I wont get another lg phone again but im sure that most of then has never got one either but .... then where is the people saying ill never get a Sammy phone again ..... are you a Sammy sheep as much as iPhone users are apple sheep too.

So how sis the 60% came uo? Why not 99.99% or 30% ...OR EVEN BETTER 0% and use external powr banks.... Even safer.....
So frustrated from SAMSUNG! Bought a Note7 on a trio to Dubai and they now want me to pay €475 to go to Dubai and physically exchange the device.... Disappointed to say the least!!!
Never again.. Sure it can happen to anybody but the resolution given for physical replacement if unit... MAJOR blunder

I wonder how this will contribute to battery life, even if this is used for a short while, only being able to charge the battery to 60% will seriously reduce the battery life span. So many incomplete charging cycles won't be any good for battery health.

It is technically safe to use if you don't fully charge the device. But it's even safer to get it replaced with the non explosive version. However there are those among us that haven't done this, for a myriad of reasons, so they have introduced this update in order to reduce the risk to users. As for your "no apology" I can't think of a better way of saying sorry than; we will replace the bomb we sold you with the phone we were supposed to sell you. This all seems rather self explanatory to me. Samsung identified the problem, accepted responsibility for it and have even put measures in place to not only replace the returned units but also reduce the risk to those who have not. All this at great cost to themselves both financially and in terms of their reputation.
