Iphones cannot be used with gloves. U can't use the touchscreen with gloves. So why exactly does it matter if you can't use the button? Even if you could you would still need to remove the gloves. It has always been the case since the first iphone. And to be honest innever had a problem with that. There are cheap gloves for 2 pounds or 3 euros that work with screen and hence would work with the button too. I never used gloves mode on my android devices as it drains the battery. It's not an issue. You try so hard to find flaws with the iphone. I don't why you people hate it so much. In most european countries an iPhone is not more expensive than other flagships, yet holds its value for much longer.

Having a power button and assistiveTouch make sense to me now. No need the software update to address this issue.. If you want to use apple products, think like apple. LoL.

Xperia xz is a far more better device than this iphone7. Iphone use to be more of an accessory device but I'll be honest that title belong to xperia xz this year. To buy iPhone 7 over a phone like xperia xz is really a stupid thing to do. It has to be said.

Apple branded gloves accessory to be launched soon to handle this issue. Or Apple will say you are not pressing/touching the button right.
Sapphire glass and now this. They should probably rename the 'iPhone7' to 'lie-phone7'..atleast it will suit the product description..

And here comes all that features that most of devices have, but are not used... Especially on iPhone( "cough" dumbed bluetooth "cough")
Here should kick in Environment Sensors that most of modern phones have. It contain temperature sensor that should check surrounding temperature, and based on it, bump touch sensor sensitivity. So if there is cold, it will bump sensitivity so you can use that button even with gloves, and if its hot, it will set it normal, so it will not drain more battery than it should.
Because most of phones have high sensitivity option, eg xperias, but it really drain more battery, even if we talk about whole screen, not only button.

And a lot of phones don't have glove mode and honestly I am never comfortable using a phone wearing a pair of gloves(I have gloves that can be used with touch screen phone).

... moreActually Nokia Lumias could be used with gloves on, and some androids have glove mode wich ramps up the sensitivity, but the problem with the Iphone 7 is that the only way to get out of an app is to use home button, wich won't work with gloves on cz it requires skin contact.
Of course there are workarounds like Assistive touch...but they are long and sometimes tiring workarounds

If you are wearing gloves, the fingerprint reader (to unlock the phone) won't be able to read your fingerprints!
If you are wearing gloves (except for special ones made for using touch-screens) you can't use the touch-screen on any smartphone to unlock it, or to use the apps.
