Yes, I tried to order it here in Taiwan on the very first day but without luck. Sony is still popular in Taiwan but it's a small market. My guess is the stock was not too big and since Samsung Note7 and iPhone7 are also sold out, then Sony comes first.

Most citizens from the states d... moreThere is a small growing market for unlocked devices (that's why a lot of phone companies are terminating mandatory two year contracts and smaller flexible carriers are becoming popular) here, but you're right most people still prefer getting their phones through subsidies or monthly payments.

Most citizens from the states depend on monthly payments or depend on a carrier to subsidize the cost. Everywhere else in the world, phones are bought at the retail price in full. Most manufacturers earn larger profits selling in other countries such as China or India because of a lesser import tax fee. Besides the value of the American dollar is far too high to the yen, Sony would earn less in sales

How come sony don't come bored of than square sharp edges, quit ulgy. From day one up to how all of them look same, I will never buy these ulgy phones.

I'm not following why Sony would leave out such a huge market such as the USA without a fingerprint reader? Another reason why they can't seem to make ground here. I use to love them back in the days of Nokia vs Sony.
