Samsung Galaxy Note 2 catches fire on IndiGo flight

23 September 2016
Samsung is now investigating yet another fire caused by a Samsung phone, however, I wouldn’t put the blame on the phone just yet. We’ll get back to why in a moment.

Punisher, 24 Sep 2016That guy from youtube already explained why note 7 battery ... moreThat's not what happened. That's why atl were able to do it. The problem is Samsung SDI was used to making removable batteries and didn't have the rcources and competitiveness in making non removable ones so quickly, because Samsung SDI only started making them recently.

Its because there hasn't been a case in 4 years, and the only case is after a public recall of the note 7 that this is fishy. It means media attention to the point you even knew of this, and it means people are likely to do something dodgy, and it means there was most likely another cause. Nobody is saying the battery blew up because its old.

AnonD-588820, 24 Sep 2016Samsung should add a auto extinguish fire feature on the note 8Nice idea you got there...

Also the idea of having no replaceable battery in a phone is a good thing and SAFE so that NO knock-off batteries can be used.

AnonD-588820, 24 Sep 2016Samsung should add a auto extinguish fire feature on the note 8i agree

Instead of creating and evolving new battery tech what samsung did was they packaged more battery in same space. Thats equal to more pressure right from start. That has nothing to do with evolving existing battery tech or innovating new. They squeezed more battery in same space.

Even if those were cheap batteries all oems must integrate failsafe no matter what. As i said im just waiting for a planecrash.
How come u never heard about laptop battery explotions since beginning of laptops. Never!!! Except maybe lg or some other low laptop manufacture disaster. Even Tesla had issues with battery catching fire and they corrected the problem adding titanium plate to prevent puncture.

It's just a bit weird that all these old Samsung mobiles started catching fire now with the note 7 dilemma, I mean why haven't they catch fire back in June and July why in the same month and the following one to the note 7 incident it's just kinda weird to me

One accident can not change the image of Note.
Note 7 is still the best and most beautiful phone on the Planet, and the battery issue will be solved.

"It’s also possible the phone had a cheap, knock-off battery, which could have been the cause of the fire as well."

Even my old Nokia N8 and Apple iPhone 4 that came out even older than Note 2 back then in 2010 well that make em at least 6 years old (3 years older than this Note) are still running alive and fine.

Wake up people don't be blinded by the so-called high spec with lots of feature and whatever. If you want quality android phone go for Sony or Motorola instead or even Asus that is on the rise. Never had any issue with their phone being a timed bomb.
